CARtoons roach bugs aged retro gemini rust 2021 mod RtxBS
This is a modification of CARtoons RC (2017) v2.3, by HauntFreaks, BorgDog, and SliderPoint - with contributions from Dark, Randr, Toxie, and Fuzzel
"My boss found this old pinball machine in his barn and stuck it in our break room, bugs and all! I thought it was old and unfair, so I hammered some nails in...hopefully I didn't break anything...
um, if the lights go out...just give it a slap." RADDOG
Hold left flipper before starting game for Operator's Menu
See script for more toggle-able options
**Arachnophobe Warning** turn off spider in script, I don't want to freak anyone out (too much)
Thank you to Toxie and Fuzzel for VPX in general, and for their excellent documentation and posts clarifying all of its features.
Special thanks to JPSalas for the physics, shadows, and sounds in his excellent Arcade Physics v3 2nd edition, and for advising me to lower the max velocity of the ball - which led to fine-tuning the physics of the whole table, then tweaking the flippers to be more worn out like the original.
I've been a fan of digital pinball games for long time, but somehow only just discovered Visual Pinball. Learning so I could make my own tables became...a bit of an obsession. I chose to mod this table because it's so unique, but simple enough that I could follow the code (I am not a programmer, and I apologize in advance to those of you who are).
I discovered visual pinball just 2 weeks ago, but I've put about 42 hours of work into this (and a lot more time mentally). (as of 1.0, a lot more now!)
I hope my love of the medium and this table shine through, and that you enjoy playing it!
>>>>>>ORIGINAL TABLE<<<<
>>>>>>B2S LINK<<<<
(Change the b2s filename to match the table name)
Major changes in Nailed: RtxBS ON, Physics, Nails, Multiball, Outlane Save Roach, Shadows, Lights, Sounds, Breakable Elements
My goal was to give it a couple more features, while staying true to its 'aged' aesthetic. I'd like to think I pulled it off!

What's New in Version 1.3f (See full changelog)
- PoV change, and Final Update: I rushed this one out when I first got into VP, before I knew about the proper way to get permission; basically I didn't wait long enough and the answer would have been "no" because of the IP. I got approval to keep it up after, but it didn't feel right to work on it thereafter.
- It sounds like there is a proper update from HauntFreaks in the works, so keep an eye out for that!

I don't have any plans to add a DMD for this table, and right now I don't even know how they work! My original project ideas all need a DMD so I'll have to learn, and maybe then a clever use for that space will occur to me. It would still have to fit the era or the buggy, broken-down logic of the table, though.
Looks awesome. Too bad the playfield is sideways on my cabinet
I can't seem to fix it. Is this normal for your table to do? Thank you

go to backglass option and change rotation to 270..... that should fix it
That's my bad, left it set for physically rotated screens (opposite of most cabinets).
In the editor: Backglass + Options selected (left side) -> FS selected from dropdown -> change the xy rotation from 0 to 270. I'll double-check that in future!
Thanks, Wylte for the new version 1.1.1
great job, but I miss the bells from the orig version, and this build seems to be set for 3 ball unlike the old one which was 5 ball. Can't find the setting to change this to 5 ball. Does anyone know where it is ?
Thanks

Looked at the upload again, and the chimes are working on my end. I don't have DOF, but the only thing I changed in the bells code was the location - putting it at the back center instead of the right outlane. Do you still hear bells between balls, or when you hit the outlanes? Those lines are completely unchanged.
To change balls option, open the options menu in-game: hold left flipper until menu opens > left flipper scrolls menu items > right flipper picks item; scroll to save, right flipper saves and closes menu
not hearing any bells at all in the game I don' think. Will look for the bell mute line......where is the options menu you suggest opening to change the # of balls ? Is it while the game is open ?
Thanks
Yes, you hold the left flipper when game is open but before pressing new game. All other customizations are at the top of the script, each with their own little explanation. Bells are working in the upload, though - what's your setup? Using DOF?

The original was one of my go-to favorites, for several years. Can't wait to try this version.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, develop a 4:1 DMD to compliment this table.
I found a CARtoons jpg, but it just doesn't match the patina and style of this table. It NEEDS an appropriate DMD.
