O.D. Jennings 1930s flipperless hunting bagatelle cabinet
Here's “Hunter” - one of the tables produced by the short-lived O.D. Jenning’s pinball operation. This table is from a time when pinball tables were little more than gambling machines. But, since I’ve recreated the table in VPX, you don’t have to worry about spending all the grocery money trying to win one of the payouts.
This is my second recreation, after Ballyhoo (1932). I tried to do a more “from scratch” approach. But I inevitably relied on the visual pinball pioneers’ work that finds its way into any half decent table. I couldn’t even begin to name them all. I just hope they know that their invaluable contributions are appreciated. I also have to give credit to mfuegemann once again. While I tried to write the majority of the game’s code myself, I heavily relied on Ballyhoo, which was essentially a heavy MOD of their “Cavalcade” table.
Download includes the table, backglass, 2 wheels (one tarcisio one not), and an image to fill the DMD in popper.
NOTE: The backglass will appear to not fill the whole screen. This is by design, as the real backlgass/backbox was not shaped like modern ones. Also, the backlgass does NOT display your “score.” It’s ONLY to show your progress on the “payouts.” (Which also don’t actually do anything. That’s just for fun and to match the appearance of the real table). Please read the “Table Info” for instructions, keycodes, etc. (The "Table Info" menu is found inside of the actual VPX file. Lots of authors leave helpful/interesting info in there).
***1.07 Update: Thanks to Wylte for giving useful feedback that the pinball size could be adjusted to improve the gameplay. (And giving me specific values to change so I could make the changes and get right to play testing). I recommended everyone upgrade to 1.07, but if you prefer how 1.04 played, you're still free to download and play that version. Enjoy!***

I actually had a different version of this table up elsewhere in the past. It received a barrage of complaints/mentions issues requiring edits (some were valid, other commentators were simply showing their lack of reading comprehension). I took it down because I got fed up with repeatedly trying to fix a problem I wasn’t personally experiencing and was receiving little thanks for my efforts. I share tables to give back, not as a way to role-play as IT support. I’m re-sharing it here with the understanding that the table comes “as-is.” I have gone back and made some edits on my own, so hopefully the previous issues are gone. If not, you’re welcome to discuss any issues and workshop solutions in the support thread. I will update the table at my own discretion.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the table.

What's New in Version 1.07 (See full changelog)
- 1.04 - Initial VPF upload
- 1.07 - Pinball size adjusted (thanks for the suggestion, Wylte) along with necessary edits to go along with this change. I also some minor tweaks to the artwork and added a non-tarcisio style wheel to the 1.07 zip folder.

what keys do you use for this ? ive tried all cant get a ball to appear. You say Please read the “Table Info” for instructions, keycodes, etc.
but there isnt 1 included.
If you open the table in the editor, you can go to the "Table" tab. Click "Table Info..." under that. A window will pop up with the rules, along with some other info.
But to directly answer your question, the right flipper AND the right magna save button should do the trick. Either works. (Once you've started the game with the usual key, of course).
Also, I'll take this opportunity to ask everyone to please post future questions and concerns in the "Support Topic." The link to it is up there next to the file information. Thanks.
I look forward to giving this a try
I have about 30 tables so far on my pinball cabinet including many of the highest rated and most popular tables with all kinds of fancy graphics and light shows. This table, however, is my 9 year old sons favorite table. He keeps coming back to it and is so proud of his high score. There is a surprising amount of skill involved in timing your shots and the long plunger and gradient allows you to plan out your shots for the holes you need. Many thanks Warbler huge thumbs up for your work on this table!
Thanks for the update and the non-tarcisio style wheel ![]()
Thanks for the update Warbler33
How fun! Thank you.
