Jurassic Park (Data East 1993) Mod/Update FS Cabinet version VP990 recreation.

Initial release

"If it's not Jurassic Park - it's extinct!"  We really tried to raise the bar on this table!

This is a complete overhaul update to Bmiki75's Jurassic Park

Credits:
Bmiki75 - original author whom we thank for his gracious blanket permission to mod.

UncleWilly - The legendary table author who handled coding and the table logistics that made this update possible.
LoadedWeapon: The 'night mod master' who laid down all the core ground work for the updated lighting on this table.
Dark(myself): Responsible for many custom made 3D models including but not limited to the TRex, artwork and custom flasher reflections/highlights.

Additional credit to Francisco666 and Rom for resources from their FP version.  A few of the models from the FP version were used, the mosquito, the pterodactyl and the TRex sign box which were so well done I saw no purpose in re-doing them myself.
Also thanks to zany for primitive pop bumper caps and flasher domes! Thanks buddy!

So much was done for this update it's practically a new table, with a full compliment of custom made primitives, new flasher lights and of course a fully 3D animated TREX model that will swallow your balls!  :P
No effort was spared in making this update as accurate to the real thing as possible, many small details such as custom flasher reflections, primitive metal walls that mirror mod the ball and many bug fixes.  To learn just about everything that was done of this update you can see the WIP thread here: http://www.vpforums....ic=29120&page=1

On start up options menu:

When you first start the table you will be prompted with a checkbox menu which allow you to customize some features of the game they are as follows:

Disable:
  • Start up menu (prevents start up menu from appearing next load up)
  • Night mode (enables day mode instead)
  • Black posts (enables yellow instead)
  • Black rubbers on flippers (enables red rubbers instead)
  • Extra lighting reflections (requires a restart of VP)  (disables extra lighting in the event you want to change backdrop settings or get a small increase to performance)
To reset the registry so that the menu will come again see LINE 128 in the script:
' SaveValue cRegistryName, "Options", 0 : Exit Sub  ' This will clear your Registry settings if uncommented

Future updates will include physics tweaks and possibly a physics mod release.

1.1 - Trex multiple bow fix
Trex would bow down multiple times some times to pick up the ball, this fixes it so it only bows down once.
My apologies that this update doesn't include physics or ball collision, but it's been decided that this table will be converted to VP10.

Enjoy!

What's New in Version 1.1 (See full changelog)

  • 1.0 - initial release.
  • 1.1 - Trex multiple bow fix

Just drop the dB2S file into the same folder as your table make sure it is named the same.  If you open the table script part way down from the top there is a section 'table options' that asks you to select 1 of 3 options, (1)Vpinmame, (2)UVP or (3)dB2S, it is set to 1 (vpinmame) by default, change this to 3 then compile script and save table.

Looks amazing! Great Work

thanks for those settings Raza, the feel was completely wrong to me prior, ball was going 100mph once hit and bouncing off everything as if the table was made of rubber.

Tnx so much! One of my favs!

For better game performance I changed the following;

-Gravity Constant=1,7

-Contact Friction= 0.0065

-Flippers speed 0,3

-Flippers strength 1

-Bottom of left bumper I made smaller, because of the annoying touch coming out of the left hole.

Is it possible to skip T-Rex diagnostics?

hi, thanks for the settings values, it plays much better.../thanks/sparky
