Here's the announcement:

"The first four tables will be Tales of the Arabian Nights™, Ripley's Believe It or Not™, Theatre of Magic™, and Black Hole™.

Each month we will be updating the game by releasing two tables as DLC and adding new features that will include online tournaments and head-to-head play.

With many of the all-time greatest tables from Williams®, Bally™, Stern Pinball™, and Gottlieb™; The Pinball Arcade™ is set to become the most realistic and comprehensive pinball game ever created!!!"

............

"We don't want to reveal too much about our release schedule, but I can assure you that Cirqus Voltaire™ is certainly in our plans to be included as one of the first ten tables released as DLC."

Yay! Except TOTAN and Black Hole have previously been released. I hope no more dupes, I want to see new stuff. At least they've got both Bally and Stern listed. And it looks like it's available for every format possible. And online tourneys!

What are the chances that the PC version will have cabinet mode? Probably too awesome to hope for.

I talked to these guys at the Expo, and I was told there would definitely be portrait mode for cabinets.

I must have dozed off: this thing snuck right on by me until today. Are Pinball Arcade and VP/FP going to go hand-IN-hand?.....or hand-TO-hand. aikido.gif boxing.gif

Whatever.....as long as we all wind up in a friendly place. bar4.gif

great news!!
farsight studios is doing an amazing job recreating pinball. the williams phof for ps3 is very very good! cant wait for this one.

now, if this comes to pc. wont you need a very powerfull for this? because on ps3, that is a powerfull gaming machine, when you are on 4 ball multiball you get a slowdown. so i reckon you need a nasa pc for this? biggrin.gif

Really? That doesn't happen on the 360. I always thought these games loaded really fast and played really smooth.

I read that the NTSC PS3 version has some slowdown.

A big YES to this announcement.

This is indeed geat news!! The physics in the video clip look a bit dodgy to me but hopefully just because it's early days.

Noah's cab news is sweet, if true count me in for the PC and iPad version!

Portait mode will be a nice bonus for sure, but that doesn't flip all the switches that cabinet owners need. If they're just going to take their one screen format and turn it sideways, at least it will be playable on a cabinet. But will we the backglass rendered in a second window for pushing to the backbox monitor? Customizable controls? Who knows. I suppose if anybody at farsight has played a vpin or better yet built one, the chances improve. Obviously these guys love digital pinball given all the things they've built so far.

Noah, you should totally collude with them to make a version that runs awesome on a virtua-pin so you can sell it as a bundle. wink.gif

Always good news for the pinball community and sounds promising if they are going to continue to improve it. If they do support cab users with multiple screens on the PC version then what a showcase for their product.

One thing from looking at the video is hopefully the balls can be changed because the ones in the video just don't look real. Hopefully they won't go for all that ball trailing nonsense either - fingers crossed.
