I just purchased a new computer to go in my new arcade cabinet and am trying to get Future Pinball set up in desktop mode for my one monitor arcade machine.

I'm running Windows 7 but have it set to run in compatibility mode for XP service pack 3 and have it set to run as administrator.

Whether or not I use BAM, when I load a table, it gets stuck on Processing Registry Entries...After a few seconds, I can hear the table in the background.  If I alt-tab, I can see the table.

If I then start playing the table, I can hear the sounds but don't see anything happening on the table itself.

I've previously had Future Pinball working on my Windows 10 machine and have it running in my PinballX Cabinet, but trying to get this desktop version to play is just not working.

I've searched and searched and can't find anyone who has had similar issues.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I don't think you need to make compatible with XP SP3. Try unchecking that, but leave the "Run as Administrator checkmarked.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?  I've been searching all over and can't even find a report of a problem like this.  I'm really stuck here. :(

I do not use compatibility mode or administrator for Future Pinball / Bam

Yeah, I turned it off.  This problem is happening whether I use BAM or not, though.  I even tried reinstalling FP and get the same problem.

The game loads after a few seconds of saying Processing Registry Entries, but it loads out of focus in another window.  I then press alt-tab and can see the game but it doesn't actually work.  I can hear things going on like if I press the flippers, but the screen doesn't show anything except like when the game first starts before you actually play it.

I don't know what to try next??

Normally it goes by so quickly you'd never see it.  It's the first or one of the first things that shows, but mine is getting stuck on that and never goes past it.  It's on the first screen with the watermark, down at the bottom.

Maybe check to see if your fonts are set to Larger Scale and if so change them back to default smaller scale.

Not sure if this will help, but worth a try.

Good idea.  They were set larger.  I set them back to default then reinstalled FP again and same problem...

That's not the default table. Click File-> New. Play

I did that and saw that one other thread.. Unfortunately, that option was already set to high and that didn't fix it.  This is a real bummer.

I gave up... I've never heard of this problem and nobody had any answers, so I upgraded to Windows 10 and it's working now.

I probably could've formatted and reinstalled Windows 7 and it would've worked, too, but upgrading was easier so I didn't lose my settings and apps.

The weird thing is this was a brand new PC.  New install of Windows 7 and I had this problem.

Oh well...Fixed now. :)

Thanks,
