Robocop (Data East 1989)

Screenshots
Authentic dB2S.

What's New in Version (final) (See full changelog)

  • (final), (final ultra)
  • The fantasy and authentic mode does switch between two possible robocop letter light impressions in different representations. If everyhing does work as expected this is for now the (final) version.
  • (Annotation reloaded all final versions due to I forgot to edit one old part in the files before the submission.)
  • 2.0, 2.0 ultra
  • New reworked Robocop letter backbox integration. I tried to let it reflect more like the indirect general light from the mirror and still let it stand out as a none reflective separate element for the backglass. The light was moderate accomplished to integrate in the whole backglass scenery as well. The fantasy switch option was removed. The 2.0 ultra version does maybe need a little bit more PC horsepower but I do believe it is still well balanced. A further light radius range effect for selected lights is included. Older than 1.91 versions are removed and were preserved with a core key placeholder version for reference only.
  • 1.91
  • A small graphical representation change to the luvthatapex & Willys Art Guy backglass part near the right side of the LED score display.
  • 1.9
  • Picture screenshots update.
  • 1.9
  • Short video demoplay 1, 2 visible:
  • 1.9
  • The fantasy mode is used as a fallback option (!) in every 1.9 version for less hardware demand. In a case of need please use the other versions from 1.8 and accordingly. Thanks.
  • 1.8
  • Robocop (Data East 1989) 1.8 with more LED display colours.
  • 1.7
  • Short video demo available: https://youtu.be/jVRMaPFUG04
  • 1.7 (final or prefinal)
  • Real game reflections on the mirror.
  • Grill option and fantasy option.
  • Includes a colour choice for the LED displays. An example is based to the corresponding last file LED colour number in the screenshot area visible.
  • More game preview pictures are ready to view. The download area is cleared up.
  • 1.6
  • New fantasy mode! A 1.6 variant version means more difference to the 1.5 version. From dark 1 over 2 till brighter 1 and 2 you can select your mirror reflection look preference. I recommend to try the fantasy mode with it.
  • 1.5
  • Additional LED-DMD colours complete the default 1.4 version. An example is based to the corresponding last file LED colour number in the screenshot area visible.
  • 1.4
  • Unites the grill and the none grill version in one dB2S. You can choose the light behaviour around the score lights with the authentic and the fantasy switch button in your B2S backglass server. Authentic mode means a less light translucent material around the score displays area and fantasy mode does make the material more translucent till the inner score displays area. You may need to restart the table until the difference is visible after it was changed.
  • 1.3
  • Alternative lights behaviour around the score displays, for none grill usage at the moment only.
  • 1.3
  • It does require lots of PC horsepower to use this dB2S together with the already demanding table.
  • 1.2
  • I apologize for any inconvenience: -> After 1.1 was incomplete offline saved and afterwards submitted, I hope everything is fine now.
  • To enhance the backglass the required refinements were done.
  • 1.1
  • A touch more increased flash power. I think this is it! :D
  • 1.0
  • Initial authentic release.
  • Thank you very much luvthatapex & Willys for your Backglass!

Ver 1.0 works great for me. I like this version of the alphanumeric LED. Looks a bit more like FP than some of the other backglasses recreating the same era.

Nice thank you

is there 2 monitors version?

This backglass was a very quick decision reasoned by the initial feeling that here was hidden and unused potential.

For this release I came to the conclusion that a second monitor should show a full backglass picture. My assumption is, that you tried this backglass and you are therefore able to explain, why you think, that a grill version is able to significantly boost the gaming experience. Please share your ideas with me and I see what I can do.

Thanks for the one star vote. I know that in the end I can not expect to make any one more happy than myself.

The taste is always different and it is my duty to respect that. However, an authentic dB2S with a not so bad backglass picture and a missing, as I trid to explain no real benefit from a 2 and 3 screen addition (there is nothing going on on it, based to my research), is for me a good dB2S.

For me, without a further constructive explanation, the one star vote is completely insubstantial. I am glad that you found a better dB2S! :-)

just asking :) one star vote is not my vote.

After I investigated the whole dB2S again I found what I fear most, there were two lamps not working. By revisiting the resources I found a better insight which will lead to a better outcome. I had it not often but it is, when it appears not nice. My aim is to have the best possible outcome what a dB2S can offer. Therefore I will submit today a new version which will be better! :)
