I think every time you start a new game you can earn a replay regardless of whether or not you did on the previous game.

Yes of course. But you can earn only one replay PER GAME, after the 5th maze.

I thought that's what he was asking.

Is there another ROM version available for this table?

I swear that the rom version I played in my old table the game says before the special (5th maze): "FREE GAME AFTER THIS MAZE". This doesn't.

And yes, I don't have free game enabled on the menu. Hmm...

When I played it definitely said that before the third maze.

Ok... I had the dip set to "bonus after 5th maze" and never get that after completing the 4th one. Hmm...

Finally got to the eight maze and broke the 1 mil score. :D Actually that high score was done during the 1st and 2nd round, sucking points from the tunnel and getting 50K for the banana. I have to make a video of this method sometimes.

The center arrow shot in the real table is just as dangerous in our version now. Sometimes it's safe to hit it but sometimes you get a deadly drain from it. I really like how it plays now. It might be a bit harder than the real table but that's just cool. This is much better than my VP8 table due to better VPX ball physics and proper aiming. Really enjoy playing this.

PS: The key to keep ball in play in pinball is to concentrate on shooting the FRUITS and TUNNEL lanes, trying to earn extras. The blue center target drops very fast when there are more than 2 arrows. I never try to aim at it. Shooting captive ball is relatively safe but aiming at the center is not worth the risk.

Finally scored 2 mil.

Here's a shot of the 7th maze with partly invisible walls. If I remember correctly the walls become more and more invisible as the levels advance. Basically the game just repeats those 3 mazes forever but with constantly different color combinations.

I made a ball decal to go with this table (and Mr. and Mrs. Pac Man):

Two "qualified" people have now commented this version and the response has been very positive.

Scott from Atariage confused this with the old version and thought I made this table too. I didn't and I corrected him later in the thread. The layout work is beautiful. All we had to do was to make it play well.

This is very special game and it's quite tough to execute on VP. My old table didn't play very well... aiming at center sucked (among other things). Another guy owns the real machine also played this new one and praised our work... and also said it plays a lot like the original.

This has always been the real reward for these conversions. Some guy who "gets" it and gets enjoyment out of them. That's why I've been into emulation... because I still want to PLAY these games. It's like restoring an old classic Jaguar or Mercedes... bringing it back to life... trying to make it run like when it was new... and being proud of the result and taking it to some country road for a spin. Of course VP is not quite the real thing and that's why it's always even tougher.

But I think we did very well.

Trying to get the yellow pacman ball? I got it close to DarthMarino's look. Import his decal. Import a black ball image. Set those up under ball options. Check logo mode. Decrease bulb intensity scale to 0. Not bad looking.

having two issues:

1. my joystick when used is just shaking the table and causing pacman to die right away. How do I program the joystick to work just for moving pacman up/down/left/right? Tried joytokey but dn work.

2. the video game keeps loading behind the BG instead of in front and the intro music cuts in and out while it's loading.

You don't Need Joy2Key or anything like that.

Only take a look at your VPX Editor / Keys, or/and in Folder /Scripts/VPMKeys.vbs,
maybe you changed/have to Change something there also.

BG/DMD, i also had some Troubles, but once i "clicked" it in Front,
then it was ok.
Maybe you try another directb2s File ...

I can see the options in the vpmkeys.vbs but not familiar with how I would map to my joystick for the directions. Has anyone mapped a joystick for baby pacman that can share what you did? Or how do I map the joystick with this file? Also, why does the whole table shake when I move the joystick? This causes pacman to die pretty much immediately. Trying to figure out what setting is causing this.

Your joystick is nudging the table. Go in the Nudge settings and change the mapping.

I never tried it but their is no analog joystick support,  most often that is mapped to the plunger

if you wan to use joy2key map the touch pad to the arrow keys.

and as mentioned you need to configure your joystick to VP so that your analog stick is mapped to the plunger and not the nudge.

For some reason the table is shaking violently without any input. I removed my joystick just to be sure but no difference. Is there something in the attached vp settings that I screwed up? It seems like it is stuck in a constant nudge or something. seems like none of the button assignments are setup so no clue what happened here. was working previously and I dont'  know what I might have done to cause this.also, per 2nd screenshot, dmd is black. I turned on the border so you can see it's in the front but no display. ????
