So what does the game difficulty setting in the table editor do?

Just wondering what it should be set on for typical table releases. I saw on the test table is was set at 20 but when I looked at my Bugs Bunny table, it was 70.

Thanks

As fa as I understood, it changes the slope. Max and min defined in the table settings. And most authors use the same for max and min. also as far as I saw.

I think it also scales the scatter values on objects somewhat, so with a difficulty of 0 I think it basically ignores the scatter, which takes out some of the randomness makes it more predictable. I think there may be a couple other things too I remember toxie talked about it in a post somewhere, sometime.

Not even you guys know what these settings means ?

Omg. we really should start collecting the different bits and pieces of great information that is scattered around so it would be easier for everyone to find and get the best info possible.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Yes, it would be great to have a VP-Wiki. There are so many good informations in this forum but manythings are hard to find.

CommandReference.txt is your friend.

"*GlobalDifficulty(float) - Mainly chooses/weights between SlopeMax and SlopeMin, but also affects precision of flippers/scattering (0..100)"

Ok, but we still should have a wiki :-)

So what would be considered a nominal setting considering the test table is on 20?
0?
20?

Ok, but we still should have a wiki :-)

There is a Wikipedia page dedicated to VP - maybe you can try adding to that:  https://en.wikipedia.../Visual_Pinball

I don't think, that's the right place. It must be a WIKI, where everything is discribed from installing (all versions, troubleshooting, faq and so on to building a cabinet (or desktop-version), dof, hardware and....
That's a great work, but in the end it's a great reference book.

Couldn't a stub be created off that which would have a page with that information?

Took randr a few minutes to implement over at his site. Stole some info shamelessly from here and rands site in order to get the ball rolling so to say.
