I've read a few posts on the subject... some of the newer tables get this error. ICP, lady luck and a few others. Should I re-download net framework 4? Go up to 4.5 or is it something else?

Thanks

What error do you get? Best is to post a screenshot of the error message box.

I got this error after doing a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit.  I think I resolved this problem by applying the Windows 7 updates.   The .net framework 3.5 is included in the Windows 7 install, and there are fixes/updates in the Windows 7 updates

Ok, so it took a while to get to it but I finally tried windows 7 update... only 144 of them!!! Pinball pc never sees the internet files come through my phone...

Also repaired net framework 4.

Both to no avail. :(

Same conversation string error as above. Only on a dozen or so. All of the music template tables and then pretty random (I think...)

What do I try next???

I had the same problem.  I was running Win XP..  I noticed it on the Insane Clown Posse table, didn't try any of the other music tables.  Also noticed it on the Funland, Crosstown, and Olympics tables.  Other new tables like Champion Pub, Grand Lizard, Cirqus Voltaire NM, TOTAN NM, and South Park all worked fine.

I say "had" the problem since I was trying different tables trying to figure out why I was getting this error when my LCD died.

Sorry about your lcd. Hopefully we'll have this sorted by the time you're replaced.

Exactly same tables working/not working for me...

Any ideas?

Nothing really, but I was working toward the idea that it was the tables with the Included backglass. (Non rom tables or ones with score reels) None of the DB2S tables I tried had any problems.  Since I was in the process of moving over to a different PC (New one built for cab running XP) I can't be sure when the problem was introduced. I hadn't played any of those tables since I started moving everything over.  Those tables work fine on my desktop PC running windows 7 though.

I'm pretty sure I had the latest db2s.  I probably need to hook up to the net to see if there is a newer .net.  I can't do anything right now until I get a replacement LCD if I try to use my desktop monitor it screws everything up.

Anyone else verified if this solves it or not?

I downloaded the latest but I need to confirm that I actually installed it!!!

I saw that there's a net 4.5 but I hadn't seen any mention of it here so I chickened out :)

I had but reunzipped to tables folder for good measure. I checked all b2s-anythings to run as admin. No luck. Went back and added xp compatability mode. No luck.

Does seem to be worse in tables that include bg.

:(

Sorry dboyrecords, I'm still on hold until I find a good deal on a 42" LCD. One thing I can say is that I copied my entire Pinball folder (vp, fp,pinballx) from my main PC to my new cab PC.  Main PC is Win 7, cab is XP.  When I load those same tables on my Main/Win 7 PC they run fine.  That makes me think it is a problem with the OS/.net an nothing to do with any of the files for VP/pinballX etc.

I hope to get a new LCD going in the next week or so.  Maybe then whe can compare notes and figure this out.

Fixed! I'm embarassed to admit how but for Shadow and others in the future I'll share...

I had old b2s files in vp foler AND tables. I'd been uodating tables folder but missing vp. Stupid mistake!

Are you talking about the db2s files that came with most of those tables? If so where did you get the updates?

No, just like 3 files. I had somewhere along the lines unzipped the server files to vp folder and tables folder. I updated files in tables but had forgotten/hadn't noticed server files in vp folder.

Stupid.
