Zip (Windows send to compressed folder) them together and attach.

Hi DDH69, i know you are a very busy man.. but i am running into a problem.

First of all, everything works, LedWiz, MX, Toys..only B2S is driving me crazy.

When i startup my cab, it loads doflinx and steam FX3. (FX3Logo b2s visible) From the grid in FX3 i select the table i want to play.

Then B2Sserver loads the first table in the upperleft corner, so when i select a table from mid-grid, B2s is loading several roms/b2s until it

reaches the table i've selected, taking up to nearly 20 seconds :(

From then on, no problems at all.

I have noticed almost no delay until i ran the DOF config editor to point at the globalconfig.xml and cabinet.xml files. (needed for Teensy) After that ..delay

Do you know a way to start b2s only when starting a table?? Or another solution?

I posted in B2S server category, maybe you want to take a look into that.

Thanks in advance, take your time :)

I believe the answer is use a front end menu, ie Popper to select games, not the FX3 grid.  Running through through the grid menu in FX3 will always cause delay as it has to load game stuff (FX# file and B2S) as the game is selected, its the only time we see the game change.

Starting to realize that know.. :) I'll give it a try today..  What FE would you advice? Thanks

Hello DDH69. Just checking if you had a chance to take a look at the two files. Thanks again for your time

Hello DDH69. Just checking if you had a chance to take a look at the two files. Thanks again for your time

Sorry I missed your posting of the Zip file.  Normally best to start one thread per issue rather than trying to fault find in between other posts - all good, we can do it that way next time.

The key difference between the FX3 files is that the newer one has COLOUR_PALETTE= in the FX3 file whereas the older version relied upon GAME_COLOUR= lines in the DOFLinx.INI file.  Now that those lines are not read from DOFLinx.INI any longer I suspect the problem is somewhere around there.

A couple of things, do you still have GAME_COLOUR= lines in your DOFLinx.INI file?  If so, can you try it with those removed.  If removing them does not correct the issue can you please create a DOFLinx.LOG during the period of the issue and post it.

There was no change with removing the Game_Colour= lines

:hmm: Looks like you have edited that DOFLinx.LOG file?  Can I please see a full example from DOFLinx startup through your starting FX3, playing for 10-15 seconds then exiting FX3 - thanks.

Well then, you definitely have a fundamental problem.  There are many standard lines missing from the DOFLinx.LOG file such as the startup, version, details of the FX3.EXE after its found, etc, etc.  If no editing has taken place then your computer is somehow selectively blocking the writing of the log file.  Unfortunately there is insufficient detail in the file for me to help you.  Perhaps you can try deleting the DOFLinx.LOG file and let it be recreated.  If you still have such selective logging then you will need to look further at what in your Windows setup could cause such an odd phenomenon.

I found that if I started Doflinx directly the log would generate properly. Normally I start it in windows startup with a batch file. Here are the three log files. One with the old FX3 files, one with the new FX3 files, and one with the new FX3 files but no game color.

Here is my ini

Thanks.  I'm still not sure what is going on, but we will understand eventually.  Can you please setup in the current method, ie;

  1. Current FX3 files
  2. Latest DOFLinx.EXE
  3. Remove GAME_COLOUR= lines from DOFLinx.INI

Depending on your screen setup to do the test below you may need to run FX3 manually from Windows so that you can have DOFLinx on another screen.

  1. Stop DOFLinx
  2. Delete DOFLinx.LOG
  3. Now run DOFLinx with DEBUG=1 in your INI file
  4. Start a game so that you have undercab doing its odd stuff
  5. Right click on the DOFLinx window and select Show Variables in Log
  6. Quit
  7. Post the full DOFLinx.LOG file along with a quick description of what you observed.

Attached is the log I believe you requested. All Dof toys and lights worked correctly except the undercab. The undercab just does super fast color flashing

Great information, thanks.  I now have some insight.

Can you please try adding RGB_MIN_TIME=5000 to your DOFLinx.INI file and let me know if it resolves the issue.

Adding the line you stated did not have an effect. I thought about what happened with the log and killed Doflinx that was started with Windows startup (batch file) and started Doflinx directly and the flashing stopped. Now the undercab changes between 3 to 4 colors, switching every 5 seconds (does not stay one color).

I have fixed the startup issue. I removed the batch file. I apparently still had Doflinx running as administrator. Now I am able to start Doflinx directly with the startup of Windows. I am not sure about the color changing as stated in the previous post. Is this by design as I would like a solid color for the undercab? Thank you very much again for your time.

Glad to hear that you are sorting out your Windows issues.  If you want a fixed colour don't use RGB_OUTPUT= use FIXED_OUTPUTS_COLOUR=  is all in the guide  ;)

Now that this issue is resolved if you have more questions I suggest starting a specific thread in the DOFLinx General forum, its keeps it discrete and easier to follow for all.
