Really nice backglasses - but why didn't you scan them?? You would have no problems with reflections and it would be a perfect copy.

Maybe I try that next time. Would need a lot of stitching though, I don't have access to an scanner that can do bigger sizes than letter/A4. I think most translites look better when they have light source behind them which is hard to do with most scanners.

I have seen several comments from people lately that had machines available for resources and didn't know what to do with them... is there a tutorial for scanning?  I think even a basic tutorial to link for people would help get more resources flowing.

The problem is not they don't know how,  the problem is that they don't want to take their machine apart.

a 300 DPI scan is an over kill but its better to loose quality when sizeing down as to loose quality because you scaled your image up.

ignore all the image touch up tips a raw unedited scan is prefered

Backglasses! Get yer backglasses!

Here is what I have:

Star Wars DE -  Translite and speaker grill

The Shadow - Translite and speaker panel

The Shadow - Aurich's alternative version - translite and grill area

BSD - Translite and grill area

Viper - Backglass

Gorgar - Backglass, most of it is ok quality but it has a big bad spot at Gorgar's head

Trident - Bad quality, some German profanity has been scratched into it. Easier to fix in Photoshop than on the real thing

Bad Cats - Backglass

Torpedo Alley - Backglass. Good quality but ugly. This time it's not our fault.

Due to problems with reflections, transparencies and various other factors it took us a while to get decent results on most translites. Here is all of it in its unedited glory, the newer versions are usually the better ones. Some of them may need some stitching to get the reflections out.

Please can you reshoot the star wars, put it behind a Lightbox or a window and shoot it, you can always make the image darker in Photoshop, you cant make a dark image lighter because the dark areas on the camera CCD is where alll the noise happens, so when you light it you light the noise

Best thing is to shoot it lit up, shoot 7 exposures , one correct exposure one, and three ictures going two f stops lighter  each time and two on the darker side three pictures going down 2 stops each time ( put your camera on manual, set the iso to 100 or 50 if your camera has it) set your apature to f22 aswell BTW

If you can do the same stuff on a white background then put all the raw files or jpegs together

Send me the pictures i can fix the rest up for you

Please

Goingo from Flippermarkt.de has a very good looking World Cup 90 from Mr. Game, an interesting Italian machine which uses an color CRT for scores and some video modes.

I've asked him if he can provide resources in this tread, he has offered to take pictures and posted a link to his dropbox which has a few pictures already. Not much, but you can see the excellent state the machine is in.

Is there interest in more resources for this game?
