Will PinMAME eventually be able to support emulating the actual ColorDMD hardware? Or is it available already and I don't know it?

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

No, not the actual ColorDMD hardware. They are very, very protective of their IP.

You would think supporting virtual pins would be a nice secondary market for them, but then again they are used to selling units for $400 a pop supporting a single machine at a time. You do the math.

I've exchanged some emails with ColorDMD in regards to making an offering for the VP Crowd and he did think it would be possible but questioned whether the VP crowd would be interested. I told him I would be... but I'm not sure I'm representative. I've invested in the pinDMD3, I then flipped over to the product that cannot be named because the lack of support for the pinDMD3 was disappointing (Thank goodness for freezy or else it wouldn't be as well supported as it is) and I'd gladly replace that with a ColorDMD product offering. So considering I'm into my pinDMD3 and upgrade for probably pretty close to $500CDN I'd easily pay another $500USD for a ColorDMD if they announced it today. Could you imagine having their library of games with new offerings coming out every other month or so? I really think malenko is rocking the color games these days and I also appreciate all the effort the other artists have put into coloured rom's, but man... that ColorDMD library is just amazing...

So what say you all... would you be interested in a ColorDMD? And if so at what price?

Of course I would be interested but it is hard to put a price on it. It all depends on how this is going to be offered I guess.

Go for it, throw a price out there :). Assuming you have full access to the current catalog and including updates moving forward in purpatuity and that it plays nice with vpinmame what would you pay? I figure $299 is a no brainer as that is the cost of a pinDMD3... how much more would you pay? Im in for more than that... $500 at least, maybe more... what about different pay model? Would you pay $300 plus a monthly or annual subscription to the content? Id consider that too! I love their product, would love to see a solution.

I would definitely not accept a subscription. Once I pay for something it is mine.
