A re creation of the 1978 Brunswick table Alive!

First, A LOT of thanks needs to be said.  This is a conversion of updon719 Aspen table.  From what I can tell Alive and Aspen, are essentially the same table, with only a few different sound effects.
Ok, moving on, I used some elements from the VP9 Alive! table, so I need to thank, Wrenchien the original creator,  dboyrecords who worked on the recreation,Stat, and Borgdog who are credited on the Aspen table.  I really started this just as a "test" as I'm trying to learn vpx, and teach myself some new photoshop skills (I have a very basic understanding of it).  I started just touching up the playfield, just messing around, and I really got into it, and decided to "attempt" the whole field.  It isn't the best, but when I loaded it into vpx, I said, "Ok, I may have something here!"  So I kept going.

I'm a big Elvis fan, and I really enjoy the artwork of this, and figured I would upload this, and hope some people would enjoy it, and maybe update it more.  I also reskinned the Aspen Backglass to go along with the table.  I'm at work, and my work computer can barely handle vpx, so I'm not sure what works and doesn't yet, so feel free to let me know!

Enjoy!
I was able to get the sounds from the machine from a few different youtube videos.  I did my best to edit out the background noise and table noises.  Luckily someone that owns the machine is going to eventually send me the sounds.

What's New in Version 0.0.3 (See full changelog)

  • 0.0.3
  • Finally added the remaining sounds from this table. The table now has all the correct sounds from the original table. A big thanks to scottacus, who added the necessary script code for the remaining sounds. Some guy on youtube told me he will record me the sounds from the machine so they will sound better but we will see if he pulls through. Minor tweaks.
  • 0.0.2
  • Cleaned up a couple plastics, fixed script so the correct audio plays.
  • 0.01 Brain Ryan who helped with adjusting the lights, updating the materials, color corrected the plastic so VPX will display them better, added some missing screws, ball and fipper shadows, custom color lookup and the pov. However; I do my editing on my work computer, so the pov MAY have got a little screwed up again . Here are the recommended pov: 0 8.2 50.8 270 0.884 1 1 -13 -3.2 -1630

If there is anyone that can help me with some scripting. There are two sounds that should be played but Im not sure how to add them. When you light the red and green bonus lights a jingle should play, and when you drain, but have a free ball a jingle should play as well. Can someone help me, I have the jingles but not sure how to add them to play.

Fun table. Brings back a lot of memories from when I was a kid and my friend had one of these in his basement den area. We'd play it all the time. I installed version 1.1 and sent him a photo of it on Facebook.

I knew scottacus could help you!!

He helped me with TILT light sound effects on Buck Rogers sound mod.

Great table!!

Thanks!!!

Thanks

As a kid, I drooled over this in the Sears Christmas catalog.   I wanted it SOOOOO bad but never got it.   Many years later, I played one at pinball show, and was a little disappointed at the small size of the cabinet.  Thanks to you, I now have the FULL SIZE cabinet I dreamed of!  Thank you.
