I recently discovered future pinball while adding emulators to my arcade cab and decided to build a dedicated virtual pinball cab to do it justice. Was wondering if folks could chime in with their thoughts on recommended specs for the PC. Current high level plan is as follows:

Windows 10 OS
Pinballx front end
3 displays
4k playfield 40ish"
4k backbox
Dmd of some sort
Lighting effects
Plunger
Nudging/force feedback/knockers

Any recommendations for the above hardware would be welcome as well.

Strange, not too many answers to your query.

Well, you do not need the latest hardware for your project.

My system:

Windows 7, 64 bit
i5

16 GB Ram (Overkill, i know)

SSD 256 GB

NVIDIA GTX 750 ti
a 3 screen setup (Not real DMD, just a 15" LCD screen)

Running:

VPX

FP

Pinball FX2

PinballX

Thanks for the extra info, insomniac! I was hoping to get away with a mid range GPU, and will probably snag the RX 570 8gb as there's a great deal on it.

Ryzen 5 will likely be CPU, no idea on the Mobo yet.

Will probably repurpose a 21" 1080 monitor for the backglass, and an old 17" Dell 4:3 as a pseudo dmd.

Gimli, thanks for the link. That's a bit beyond what I had in mind but it's amazing. Great to see how far this can go.

I dont use FP but in general I dont think the RX 570 is powerful enough for 4K gaming. Definitely not powerful enough to run VPX at 4K

I'll keep that in mind. The 570 will at least get things started and I can repurpose it for another arcade build later if (when) I need more power in the pin cab.
Thanks!
