Hi mate.

I have just loaded up VPX and have some tables running.Bloody great work by the guys on them btw but

I have the same problem.

Even though I have sounds both right up in audio preferences the bumpers and flippers etc. are loud

but the music and voices etc are really low.

Cheers,

Shane.

If the table run, press F1 and look, if "Use sound" is activated. "Use samples" is activated I think.

Yeah i tried ticking the sound option with F1 and it makes no difference.  Also tried the volume in the script but not sure what its supposed to be set to.  You cant change the volume like you can on other tables using the end and 8 and 9 buttons..

Anyone..

Did u sort it @007

You can turn the volume up using the end button and then  buttons 8 and 9 to raise the rom volume..

To change the volume on this table you need to go into the PinMAME window and adjust the channels accordingly.  I will give you the procedure for the DT users:

Click on the PinMAME window (DMD if you prefer)

Press the tilde key (the key to the left of the 1 key on the keyboard) to open a white box

Using the up and down arrow keys scroll through the channels until you find one that needs adjusting

Using the left and right arrow keys adjust the volume of the channel - left arrow key lowers the volume right arrow key raises the volume

Repeat the previous 2 steps to adjust other channels

When done press the tilde key to close the white box

Click anywhere on the table to return focus to the table

Hope this helps.

There is no audio option in the method u said.  When i press the tilde key the option for overclock cpu 1 -3 and gamma and brightness are the only options to choose from..

Thanks for the info though as its always good to learn something new..

Anyone having these issues at all.  Looks like the audio options are in the script on this one and either im not editing it right or it makes no difference what so ever..

Perhaps you are not using the correct rom.

I just tried the tilde key solution that ta2686 describes above and it works for me.

There were many sound settings.

The first one that popped up was the main volume, but I think there were like six more volume selections including voice and mechanical sounds, that you can toggle by pressing arrow down key. All the voice sounds are set at 50, so you can turn them up to 100 by pressing right arrow key.

Was that with Teedoff as it works for me on other roms just not teedoff

That was indeed with Tee'd Off.

Only reason I can think of why you wouldn't be seeing the volume menus using the tilde key, is if you don't have the correct rom. (Or the rom doesn't have sounds included in it?)

Try downloading the teedoff3 rom from different sites and compare sizes.

The table you speak of uses the rom teedoff3.

Hope this helps you.

EDIT I just tried with rom from here..

http://www.vpforums....ds&showfile=380

And it worked.

I tried deleting my nvram to see if I could get the volume menus to not show up like you are explaining, but I can't seem to get them not to show up.

I really have no idea why you wouldn't be able to see the volume menus.

Maybe someone with more experience with this will be able to help you.

Here are some of the volume menus you should be seeing...

Ok I figured out how to get my menus to disappear like you described.

Here is how you fix your problem.

Start table.

When table is running and you can see the dmd, hit F1 on your keyboard. This will bring up the rom settings menu for this particular rom.

(As seen in pic.)

capture304_t.png

Make sure you have USE SOUND and USE SAMPLES checkmarked.

(Yours will not be checkmarked, why you have no volume menus.)

I unchecked mine and tried the tilde key method, and only got the Gamma and Brightness like you explained.

Press ok and now try the tilde key method and you will see the volume menus work now. (You may have to restart table for changes to take effect.)

Have a great day!!

Yeah the link to the rom was what solved the problem It was different than the one I had when i unzipped them and compared them.  Wouldn't mind i did try 2 different ones.  Just need to fix funhouse now and I'm all sorted.  If anyone has a link to working vpx and rom and nv file that they have tried.  Been on that one for about a week with no joy.  Pressing start just restarts the rom and loops every time..

Hi guys.

I adjusted the sound by opening coin door and using 8 and 9.

Now I can here Officer Callahan!!

Dirty Harry table is so good as are the other 3 VP tables I have on my desktop.

Much credit to you guys who have so skilfully and faithfully recreated these machines.

I so cant wait to get them on my currently stalled cabinet when it is built.

Many thanks,

Shane.
