WOW, this is incredible.  I don't want to hijack the 10.3 beta thread anymore with talk about this, so I started a new thread.  If anyone out there has a VR headset (rift or vive) you have to try VP with bigscreen and in steroscopic mode.  Its totally nuts.  I have it working pretty well with my "PinStubby" that I build for PinballFX2 and arcade games in VR.

I just had a great idea, Since recently Bigscreen supports more than 1 monitor, so I think I should be able to get VP working in 3d with both the playfield and the backbox.  I did just try hanzoverfist FSS tables and they work perfectly, just a little to crampt for me.  Does anyone else do these things?  I also have a 3d tv in my pincab and I have made custom 3d shutter glasses (see my avatar),

Pretty sweet!  I got a free Samsung Gear VR with the Galaxy S7 Edge.  I used it a few times.  Not it sits on a shelf collecting dust.  I know the VR's for PC's and the game consoles are much better.  Maybe now is the time to invest into one.  Do you have the plans for your "PinStubby" cabinet?

I'm going to try rotating the display and then use T/B instead, and see if I can get my rift to work upright to eliminate left and right bands you get in desktop mode, this way it should be full screen.

EDIT: of course this is all theoretical.. ;)

I use a HDMI repeater for extending HDMI cable 10', works fine.   FSS works great, will try the rotated stuff later also.

You know I have an idea , but you have CV1, I have DK2, so may not work for you, but I will rotate my display and render T/B, the rift will probably still see this as SBS, then I will simply physically rotate my IR camera 90 degrees and it will rotate my rift 3D view.. voila!

Edit: again all theory!

wait - so how do you do this?  I have a rift.  I've been waiting for Stern Pinball arcade to come out but never does (just for that weaker one and it blows).  Would like to try this....bigscreen?

Yes, Run bigscreen and then run VPX, pick Stereo SBS, then choose SBS under screen config in bigscreen.  You can move the screen around and change its size to match a pinball table.  Works great.

You should also try out pinballfx2 in VR, it works really well.

Hey guys...I'm not a fan of vr and pinball as I always play with a friend and feel pinball and vr is such a social breakdown or whatever BUT I may pick up a rift just to see this in 3d! Who knows I may never leave my basement lmao! MUST TRY THIS :)
Any suggestions on what set to purchase?

That is it.  I would also get a 10" hdmi extension cable and a 10 ft usb extension cable (both high quality), might need a hdmi repeater (non powered).  This will extend your playspace to a much more comfortable distance.  This is such a game changer you will be amazed.  I love showing people VR, the reactions are priceless.  Realy the future of many game changing technologies (training, social, games, etc)  Its really a perfect time to get into this, as it was not really ready before.  I started with a DK2, but this CV1 is so much more refined and actually works very well.  You will also need a fairly beefy computer with a very good video card.  I waited so long for the pascal chips to finally get delivered and now a 1060 or better is recommened.  I made a joke today at lunch referring the human times as BOR and AOR, like people use BC and AD but BOR means Before Oculus Rift and AOR as after Oculus Rift.  It really is that big.

Wait... so VR with VPX? Is there head tracking? has me thinking is it time to develope BAM for VPX then? I have a vive. I guess I'll have to try this out and see what youre seeing. Just the other day I tried FP with BAM , anaglyph 3D glasses on my cabinet. It was cooler than I expected.. a combination of head tracking, stereo 3D and playing it in an actual vpin cabinet. but anaglyph 3D always sucks by comparison to anything else stereoscopic I'm thinking nvidia nvision glasses might be the trick since I've been unable to source a 40" 3Dtv seems they're all 50" or bigger these days.

Bigscreen reply'd and said no way to rotate screen right now but hopefully in the future.  So I have to run desktop tables split sbs and turn on sbs in big screen.  Its not totally fluid, but looks really 3D.  Bigscreen keeps getting faster and faster so I think it might get better and better, or at least I hope.  Can't remember if Virtual Deskop was worse or not.  Will have to test that out again.  Heb, test this out

Alright guys,

I have had this rift for about a week and Pinball is ok not great kinda silly having to use bigscreen but is cool. I even tried the vr pinball game cant recall name but not great either.

The movies in VR are amazing! Also really like fox tails or whatever the mario type clone game is called its VERY cool!

All the VR games really seem great so worth the money for sure but i dont see myself playing pinball with it anytime soon but i will be climbing mountains tonight and recalling robots :)
