File Name: JP's Ghostbusters Slimer

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 26 Nov 2016

File Category: VPX Originals

Author(s): jpsalas
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

This is an original table, with everything included in the vpx file, and it doesn't need any external program to run. It can be run in desktop mode and in FS mode. The DMD will rotate accordingly.

I have used the less 3d meshes as possible and used what vpx has to offer of build inn objects, Resulting is a very responsive table. I have used vpx ramps to build the ramps, and vpx walls to build some objects like the Firestation and the Storage Facility.
The big size of the table is due to the sounds and music being stored uncompressed in the vpx file.

The layout is based on the Ghostbusters table by Stern, but there are some differences in the layout, like 2 captive balls, gates at the top lanes, holographic Slimer, wire ramps, etc. The graphics were done by me using photoshop with images found on the internet.

Read the included manual for rules, and there are a lot of rules :) The rules are based on Stern's table, but with many differences, mostly because I have never played Stern's table and I also wanted to add my own ideas :)

Tips for playing? You can go for catching ghosts, you can go for completing modes & ladders, you can go for collecting gear, or all them at the same time. There are plenty of extra modes and multiballs, with a lot of jackpots and superjackpots. And when I say multiballs I mean crazy multiballs :)

Have fun!
JP

These are my tables, sorted by date, all them playable with VPX 7 or newer:

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

Thank you so much JP !

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

This look fantastic. I have been so busy adding DOFLinx cabinet support to FP tables, that I forgot that there are some really great VPX original tables as well out there.

Beautiful stuff JP!

As was stated in the description, you need 10.2 beta.  Get that here: http://www.vpforums....e=1#entry350690

Nice job JP!  Although if you were taking influence from Stern, you really need to find a way to get the ball to jump off the table a lot and over the outlane ball guides all the time!

JP -- What a great game! Thanks so much. Just played for an hour. I love the way the GI changes color with the various modes. Lighting is initially kind of understated, but this allows the table to really "blow up" when the player makes certain shots. Nicely done. Ecto goggles are a treat. Great animations! I love the way you handled Slimer modes. A couple of times he "disappeared" on me and warped to another part of the table just as the ball was about to collide with him. Fun! So many great multiball modes. This is really an incredible piece of engineering and imagination on your part. It has so much of the feel of the real thing, with some extras from you that are right up their with Trudeau's work. Fantastic job!

JP should be working for a Pinball company by now (like Slamt1lt is). Amazing work. Thanks a lot my friend. Your work and dedication is always appreciated.

Couldn't agree more with all the comments given. This is a great table and I love the way you implemented some of your own ideas on this one! Very nice details and you should start working for a pinball company :).
