Future Spa VP91x v1.2

Version: 1.2.0
Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas

Description:
Based on the table by Bally from 1979
This is a wide body, so the appearance may be a little different than a normal table.

I have used images bigger than 1024 (only JPG) so if it doesn't look right use the 1024 limit in the VP91x preferences.

1.1 Updated 25 March 2011
- Added flipper settings by Eala Dubh Sidhe
- Added missing ball rails
- Fixed the loop trigger
- Changed nudge settings

Update 1.2
- New plastics. Thanks to Eala for the pictures.

These are my tables, sorted by date, all them playable with VPX 7 or newer:

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

I thought you said you were resting!

Looks great, will give it a go tomorrow! Thanks for doing the older more classic tables!

This is an excellent version, but the first thing I had to do was to modify the flipper settings back my preferred 'old Bally' defaults. The ones used here are wholly unsuitable for a widebody game; the spinner shots shouldn't be easy with their more oblique angle than usual, but with virtually no power at all on the flipper tips they become virtually impossible. You try it once and you think 'rebuild kit'. :/

Hey Eala: could you write your settings for the flippers? You know, I build the tables, but I haven't a clue how they should play smile.gif I just make sure I can hit everything with the flippers, sometimes they feel ok and sometimes they don't fit to the table. This is why I'm grateful for any input from all of you about some changes or adjustments smile.gif

Personally, I go for less of an extreme between speed and power. These are the settings I'm using for Jabberjaw (which is '78 Ballyish) and which were also employed on Kingdom Hearts:

Speed - 0.275
Strength - 0.35
Elasticity - 0.5 (though actually I should put this up, given that VP9 has abandoned the VP8 method of factoring elasticity into the flipper power algorithm)
Scatter - 0.5
Return - 0.25
Recoil - 15
Power Law - 1.5
Oblique - 3 (widebodies in particular are going to suffer badly from greater oblique correction than this)

Where can I change these settings ? In the editor? If yes, could not find where.

Click on the flipper on the table view in the editor, and then on the right options panel you see a bunch of these settings.

I guess for him this IS resting as he did only release one table and not a slew of them! Thanks again for yet another blah, blah blah, ok I guess i should at least type it out, thank you again for yet another fantastic looking (haven't played it yet so honestly can't say playing) table! of course after playing it on my new ws (what are the damn conversion numbers again to avoid that fat look?) I'll post with my experiences on it's playability! love wide body's though and esp anything jp related!
