Eight Ball Deluxe VP91x v1.2

Version: 1.2.0
Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas

Description:
Based on the table Eight Ball Deluxe from Bally/Midway, from 1984, the so called third edition, with the black apron.
This is a conversion of my VP8 table, but it includes new graphics, new sounds, new gameplay, and the rest of things I use to add to my VP9 tables (fading lights, angle free, etc).

Thanks to StrangeLeo for the backdrop.

Remember to press F6 to acces the configuration for this table. As always, this routine was made by Inkochnito.

This is one of my favorites from the 80's, because the rules are easy and short, but it is a great challenge.

JP

Update 1.1
- Adjusted the brightness of some lights
- Changed some settings and the script.

Update 1.2
- Added alpha ramp transparent plastics
- Added a new plunger made with alpha ramps

These are my tables, sorted by date, all them playable with VPX 7 or newer:

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

Thats the main thing I like alot about your tables JP is becuse they play fast and are very very FUN to play. No matter what table you recreate. I can play a JP table for hours without never getting bored.

Thanks again JP defiently can't wait for your tables you have in store for the future.

Hi JP, Just wanted to let you know you updated another great Table . It plays great !!! There is one thing missing from your table though , in the word DELUXE the E is burned out and not functioning . It doesn't blink like the rest of the letters. Other than that a great table .

About UR and NF flippers: I won't add them to my tables. The main reason is because I like mine ones. They may be on the easy side, but someone a long time ago told me that there aren't two flippers that work the same. It all depends on how new or old they are or if the rubber is new or is old, are the solenoids wear out, etc. And I remember he also told me that a good pair of flippers are the ones which let you shoot all the targets on the table. In VP I try to find a balance between how easy is to shoot the center and the side targets, I don't try to make them as close to real flippers. I'll also wait until they work out better ones smile.gif

The last "E" in Deluxe: this light is controlled by the ROM (as are the rest of lights), and I can assure you it works smile.gif As soon as you finish one of the modes this light will lit up, or maybe the others will turn off.

I want to thank you.

Just a little note, it's hard to believe but true.

IPDB is missing the needed support file (or my system blocks it or something, anyway I could not find it there), so I went to the download section here. I got to page 51 and could not find it (I did run across variants) and then went to the last page just to see how many pages there was. There was just a few more, I started working backwards and found it on page 52, what would have been the next page.
