Are you using BAM?  The XML files won't work without BAM.

I am assuming you have named the XML file with the same name as the table.  When you play a table, press Q to open the BAM menu and look at the screen on the bottom right.  It will show the XML file being used.  Make sure it is the file you intended.  If not, the name of the XML is probably messed up.

When you open the BAM menu, does it show the XML file name?

If it shows the correct file name, it is working.  I guess you just don't like the physics.  Try increasing the table slope.  This parameter is on the FP editor on the right pane.  This will make it play faster.

You can try Malifica's XML file that you get here:

You may have to copy the address and paste into the URL of your web browser.  Malifica's XML file plays well for most tables.

You might check the frames per second.  Press F9 and look at the display on the top left.  If it is 60, you are OK.  If it is less that 40, you have a stuttering problem.
