Try the same in the pbw section of the ini, using 1 and 3 (instead of joy1 and joy3), as that should work for any gamepad, not just a pbw controller.

OK so I went to the Pinball wizard section of the ini did as instructed. Must work for any gamepad but mine sad.gif no luck

turns out the solution was very simple in the [keyboard] section of the settings.ini i changed the default Left shift to the 'a' key and mapped my left flipper to 'a'

Thanks again Koadic for all your support, the great gamepad support in the upcoming VPinball and putting me onto the latest FPlaunch

I do know that the links are not working. This is a result of the forum software upgrade. I haven't had the time to address this issue completely as I am currently involved with some pressing real life issues.

In the meantime, you can go to the tutorial section of the help forum where I have temporarily placed those tutorials until such time that I can address the issue.

Here is a link to that forum section: http://www.vpforums....hp?showforum=85

As I stated in my previous post, due to real life issues I have not had an opportunity to update the links in the guides.

In the meantime, I have placed those tutorials in posts in the help forum. Go to this sub-forum to access them:

I've set up all the Volume Adjustment Tutorials in the Tutorial section.

They can be found by clicking the Tutorials menu in the red navigation bar at the top, or this link ...

http://www.vpforums....tutorials&cat=9

The Tutorial section has a lot of great features, including promoting posts into Tutorials, so I'd like to keep them all in that section, as it will grow IMMENSELY in the coming days/weeks/months.

I know it's mimicking reality but this is a real PITA trying to get the volumes right for each and every table.

Drives me nuts.

Opening a coin door lol?

Would rather a global setting for all the tables.

The sounds are 8 bit anyway.

Not worth fussing over with reality stuff like this.

Sorry if I'm being anal.

P.S. Cirqus Voltaire asks you to open the coin door so I hit the end key then what?

I used the 9 key but nothing was there to adjust volume.

LIke I said this is absolutely poinjtless.

FP is so much more user friendly than this and the graphics are 10 times better.

THis is like going back to the dark ages.

Anyone know how to adjust the rom sound in Cirqus Voltaire.

Opened the coin door but nothing else worked.

VP is very un user friendly.

I just found out on here that 16 bit graphics look better than 32 bit.

THen I found out you have to reload the graphics with the hardware rendering on.

What a PITA VP is compared to FP.

OK I've figured the sound roms out and the more I play VP,the more I realise what a galah I am for saying it is crap.

I adjusted my AF in nvidia inspector and switched from 32 bit to 16 bit and the tables look better ,not as good as FP mind you but now I've realised the physics in VP are indeed the bees knees.

Just played MM in VP and the experience was sublime.

So much fun!

Greetings all!

You thought I had left this forum for good, eh???   You are sorely mistaken!!!  I've just been busy with my job recently and have had very little time to devote to this forum.

Anyway, the links in the first post are now fixed to bring up the proper tutorial.

I don't know when I will get a chance again to update the other four threads like this one.  Also the spreadsheet is so out of date I may not get to that for a long time.

Sorry to have taken so long, but as we all know real life gets the higher priority!!!

Enjoy!

Any ideas for back to the future. I can get into expand menu however volume just isn't there and the mechanical sound are much much louder than the sound effects and music.

Back to the Future does not have the capability to adjust the volume via the rom.  The real alpha-numeric Data East tables had analog controls to adjust the volume inside the cabinet.

If you have the latest vbs files, you can press F12 to bring up a dialog box to adjust the volume (using 0 as max volume, -32 as minimum volume and any number between -1 and -31 for anything in between). Thanks koadic for this!

Hope this helps.

If you have the latest VBS files installed on your system, press F12 to bring up a dialog box which will allow you to adjust the volume.  Choose a number between 0 and -32 (with 0 being the maximum volume and -32 being the minimum volume) then click the OK button.  Another dialog box will pop up to confirm your selection.  Click OK to close that box then press F3 to reset the table and the volume should be adjusted for you.

Hope this helps.

Link to the latest version of the VBS files.  Unzip the contents into your tables folder.

hello, couple questions...

1. when you adjust the volume in game using the standard method, (i.e. not using the F12 but rather through system buttons 7,8,9,0) where is this info stored? I would have assumed inside the rom but not seeing the rom file being changed in windows explorer.

2. using the F12 method.... does this change volume for all tables at once?  Also, does this method actually change the system settings inside the rom as described in question 1?

Thanks.
