If you ask my opinion, MOD permission is forever, and upload permission is never required. Telling people to not share? Really? As if dictating where it could be shared wasn't bad enough.

I can find all of his tables, this is the internet, that which has been seen is forever, and you can never remove it.

This is about amusing as the several messages i have telling me NOT to do a certain table because "We" are planning to do it at "Some other place".

No "We" are fucking not, because the ROM wasn't even useable until someone nearly pulled teeth to find a partial manual
and i figured out (with help) a lamp switch and solenoid matrix, and then made a machine translation etc.
But yea "We" were doing it, it's "Our" table.

Yea ok, and "We" purchased licensing from the IP holder when exactly?

Back when we were only a few years old, and mostly carry-overs from the previous community site, we respected each other enough to not work on tables others were working on. Now, it's some elitist demand bullshit, and it's laughable. Other sites? What other sites? You mean the one hosting all kinds of illegal shit, promoting pirated products, and is pay to play? That one? LOL

 

I know I said keep the swearing down, but fuck that. It's a shitty site designed to line the owner's pockets (exactly what I was accused of by that very person. LOL. Proof positive that whatever people are doing, they'll accuse you of to distract.)

 

If anyone, I really don't care who it is, refuses to share here, for whatever reason, that's fine, but don't expect to dictate what we do or upload here. We'll always do it respectfully and remain 100% FREE in the process.

All things aside ("nothing is ever erased from the internet") Knorr is not your enemy, only one of the coolest and hardest working dudes in the hobby. He spent like a year developing this reference quality table, therefore he's entitled to feel protective of his hard work. By now everyone in the VP community including Bigus should have learned where Knorr stands at the moment, and purely out of RESPECT this table should not have been uploaded, period.

If you don't profit from it and don't hold the rights to the IP I can't see the motivation behind trying to limit your "arts" exposure, If I created a table (or game or app or *insert anything not for profit here*) I would want it to be in as many peoples hands as possible.

 

I understand wanting to stop prepackaged paid virtual cabinets that are leveraging other peoples content that is free for moolah but I don't really get wanting to stop torrents and sharing of the tables.

 

sure don't support old tables found via torrents but for the vast majority of people its public domain and not really something I think should warrant a hostile attitude.

 

I've sent some creators messages to try and get at tables that have been "pulled" and I'm still waiting on a response a week later, so in that regard Bigus is doing good by helping me to get something I otherwise wouldn't have got as I wait for a response. I'm not trying to open a can of worms here just giving you an opinion from someone new to the scene with out all this baggage and time invested in previous grievances.
