I'm planning out all my connections and wiring prior to connecting things up later this week.
I am using a separate ATX Power Supply, ATX Breakout Board, Oak Micros Pinscape Lite, and Oak Micros RGB Flipper Boards.
Questions:
1. From the Oak Micros RGB Flipper Boards, does the YELLOW (5V power) go to one of the POWER OUTPUTS on the Oak Micros PINSCAPE LITE (if so, does it matter which one)? Or does it go to a 5V connection on my ATX BREAKOUT BOARD?
2. Do I also need to connect 12V & COM from my ATX Breakout Board to the PINSCAPE LITE (12V & GND) even if I do not intend to use any devices/toys that require 12V power? I am going with only a handful of lighted buttons and the 2 flippers (lighted w/ flipper boards)
3. Am I waaaaaaaay wrong and need to do it a different way
Thanks so much to anyone willing to guide me before I fry something!

I can only answer 1 thing.
All DC grounds on a PC PSU are common
So if you ground something, it is all grounded.
The other things i can not answer for you
If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i dont have any way to receive it anyways
If you really want to get rid of money you can donate to this

My plan is to power my RGB flipper boards with 5v from the secondary atx supply, so I think the answer to #1 is yes, it goes to the 5v on your atx supply.
#2 is yes, I am certain mjr discusses this in his guide, you need to connect all the inputs from the secondary supply to the board.
#3 this seems right so far.

This question was first posted on Facebook and answered there when I saw it last night. The OP should have posted something here to that effect so people aren't looking at stuff that has already been answered.
For everyone else, here is the answer I posted:
- The yellow wire for the RGB flipper board is the common anode goes need to go to 5V power. Either directly to the PSU or into a distribution power bar if you have one.
- There is a 5V input and ground that you need to also connect to the 5V PSU.
- If you only want to use the 20mA outputs to drive button and RGB flipper boards, then you don't have to connect the 12V. That 12V is used for the MOSFET outputs independent of what voltage is used for the devices (5V, 6V, 12v, 24V, 48V etc)
- Because the 16 LED outputs are limited to 20mA I recommend not doubling up the flipper buttons and using 6 outputs for them (and 6 for the left and right magnasave). Then in the DOF config tool you can just list it twice (one for the left flipper outputs and once for the right).

Mike,
I am planning my build. Thinking Pinscape lite and also PAL. Would it be best to wire flipper boards from the PAL in lieu of the Pinscape Lite?

No. You need to use the right type of LED to the right controller.
The PAL board is for WS2812B addressable LEDs which have a data line that carries information on lighting multiple LEDs in a strip. If you have those WS2812B strips for your flipper button LEDs then that will work.
My flipper boards use single LEDs and need to be driven by a Pinscape output. They will not work with the PAL at all.
