File Name: Harlem Globetrotters on Tour

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 16 May 2016

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1979
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

A few notes about the table:

- This table is dedicated to my dear friend from Argentina Jolo (playcade), he asked me to build this table for VPX, so this weekend I took my old table and rebuild it for VPX, removed much of the old code, and in less than two days the table was ready. VPX really makes it easier to build tables :)

- Thanks to Noah Fentz for the pictures of the plastics.
- This table uses the 7 digits ROM bootleg as default, you need both roms: hglbtrtr.zip and hglbtrtb.zip

- I have added 2 extra graphics for the bumpers and droptargets. On some tables I have seen the red and blue exchanged in the bumpers and droptargets. So if you prefer the another color you may exchange the images, but you will need to do it in the editor :)

- There is also a basketball. So if you prefer to play with a ceramic ball that looks like a basketball, then in the editor you need to assign the graphics "BlackBall" to the Ball Image, and "basketball" to the Decal.

These are my tables, sorted by date, all them playable with VPX 7 or newer:

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

is there a secret to keeping the file size down so low??.... 5mb?

is it all in the graphics??

This table doesn't use many graphics, only the playfield and the plastics are big, the rest are small graphics. I only use primitives for the small objects, like the pegs or the bumper caps, the rest are standard VPX objets, mostly walls :)

I think many authors use very big graphics for their primitives, and that's good, but they will increase the size of the table. Also making the plastics with primitives, as many do, will increase the size.

Awesome table, thanks JP!

I especially love how the ball spirals into the basket.  (I don't like it when the ball gets sucked in from afar.)

Those are the new kickers from VPX, no special code is needed :) Thanks to fuzzel and toxie :)

Where we should be seeing the game credits? (I have a few VPX tables that don't show the credits)

Credit display option is usually controlled by a dip switch. F6 and check credits display box.
