Ok, so the best way to deal with the sound is through the Vpmame app, go into that folder run Pinmame32.Exe load the rom you want to fix, in this case POTO_32, let it run, (It may minimize, look in your task bar to get it back) hit space bar to continue, you'll hear the phantom, press ` then you'll see the volume at the bottom, now use up and down arrow to cycle through the selections, I have Mine at :

 

Msm5205 #0 volume 15%
Ym2151 #0 Ch1 (lt) volume 100%
Ym2151 #0 ch2 (rt) volume 100%

 

That may or may not work, if you have values that work better please post them, once you are done exit with escape key and it should save the config to the rom, and you can play that Rom in any emulator and the sounds should be better but not fantastic..

 

Doing what you said worked turning up the values of those Ym volumes.

There is also an M2M volume control. Turning that one down made the biggest difference for me

I have the Ym ones at 70% and the M2M down to 10%. Sounds totally normal now.

Also I noticed instead of opening PinMame32 and then selecting the rom we can drag and drop our rom files directly onto the PinMame.exe for the same effect

On my cab the apron has disappeared.    Anyone else seeing this or know a fix.     I am on RC10.7.2.

Just tried it and didn't see any issues... Check video settings in VPX maybe..

hello thank you for bringing us a real well translated tutorial or a real sound correction for this rom thank you for your help in france we are all blocked by this bad its result we can not play it it is useless to install it people block it with each new version of the table released it's always the same we hear cries but no clean music it's really a shame not to be able to play it like any other vpx table                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         bonjour merci de nous apporter un vrai tuto  bien tradui ou une veritable correction du son pour cette rom merci a vous  pour votre aide en france on est tous bloque par ce mauvais son resultat on peut pas la jouer  sa sert a rien de l'instaler les gens son bloquer a chaque nouvel version de la table sorti c'est toujour pareil on entend que des crie mai aucune musique propre  c'est vraiment domage de ne pas pouvoir la jouer comme toute les autre table vpx
