Hi,

I just built a new PC, installed Windows 10 Home x64 and wanted to use it for a Pinball Cabinet running Future Pinball.

Hardware: Intel Pentium G4400, 4GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 570

The Problem is Future Pinball doesn't start properly, it only Show the logo then closes instantly.
I have no idea why. I have been running Future Pinball on another PC with Windows 10 before and it works fine there.
I have set it to Win XP SP3 compatibility mode and am running it as Administrator.

Its a completely fresh windows installation, I only installed NVIDIA Dirvers, Future Pinball, BAM and Pinballx.
Could it be that I need to install something addtionally for it to run Future Pinball?

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to read this post

in principle you do not need to run it in compatibility mode, I also have 10 of 64 bits and it runs me without problems, I would try deactivating antivirus, and also in control panel - user accounts, go to control of user accounts and download it to the last one position.

Good luck!

Hi,

already set the user control thing to the lowest setting. I don't have antivirus on that pc as it is meant to be for pinball only.

I also have another pc with win 10 x64 which also runs it fine. Thats why I'm wondering if there is any software I need to install additionally.

It is critical to set "Model Quality" to "High" on the "Video / Rendering Options" screen.

Make sure you are using "Future Pinball v1.9.1.20101231".

Click on "Preferences" menu item in the editor and select "Editor Options". Uncheck all options on this screen, especially the option "Load Image into Table Editor".

You might find my guides helpful:

The FP guide is here:

The BAM guide is here:

If all else fails, you can try to reinstall.  There is a new installation file installs Future Pinball and BAM at the same time.  If you have either Future Pinball or BAM already installed, you can still run it and it will bring everything up to date.

George

Hi,

seems to be a Hardware issue default_sad.png
I just switched the hdd for the one of the PC where its working on and had the same issue.

Has anyone used a H110 Motherboard sucessfully or could it be a cpu problem?

OK now I feel somewhat stupid the Audio Driver that Windows automatically installed seemed to be the issue

I tried VPX and noticed it gave me Sound Errors, so I reinstalled the Audio Driver from the Mainboard Website and now it works fine. default_smile.png

You do not have to feel silly, windows always gives crazy problems, I work giving support to companies, I know what I'm talking about, I'm glad to know that it works well for you.
Now to enjoy, a hug!

Don't know if this helps but I had a similar problem when first starting up Future Pinball in Windows 10 on a fresh install machine.

I had to go to "Properties" of the Future Pinball exe and has to set it to "Run As Administrator" for it to work. Didn't have to set anything else like emulate as Windows XP or anything.

Had to do the same with PinballX front end too.

I think I was also running the Physics mod 2.7 version (that you then rename to "Future Pinball"
