Table: Creepy Crawlies

Download: CLICK HERE

Ver.: 10.5.0

This is my first table and took a little over a month to get to this state. I'm asking for help finding bugs, notes on playability, performance, looks and any ideas you may have.

I prefer to do this before I put it up on the VPF website for consumption so that it's a completed product which doesn't go through many edits based on feedback.

Thanks All,

Sweet Jesus!:) Anyone afraid of the spiders or bugs I would not recommend the table to them:) But anyway, it looks great, nice work! Tomorrow I'll test it.

This table seems to be built off the early version of the default table from before VPX 10.4. This early version of the default table has several bad design choices that will bite you when you work further on the table. I would recommend building from the default table of VPX version 10.5 instead. These are a few of the problems with the early version of the default table:

  • The dimensions are just wrong. The playfield size does not correspond to any existing pinball table, and the flippers are too long.
  • The materials are poorly chosen, which causes strange physics, and can cause the playfield graphics to appear washed out.
  • The point of view settings use the broken Z-scale value. This means that anyone playing the table in portrait full screen mode will experience bugs that aren't there in desktop mode.
  • The slingshots have an unusual design. Most slingshots are parallel with the lane divider, but these have an angle which causes unfair outlane drains.

I made the mistake of building an early version of my Shovel Knight table off the default table and in the end, I needed to scrap much of my work and redesign the whole layout.
