maybe some one can dumpster dive for old hdd's / disks.

now there maybe more old DE maverick roms before they became sega.

the 1.0 set seems to have the sega sound rom's

https://pinside.com/...pe#post-6168501

You may be surprised or shocked to know that most companies simply do not have copies of their old software or source code

things like secure source safe etc just were not a thing back in the day
floppy disks flying down the hallways was high tech
And that plastic floppy rolodex was secure backup

now days you can just pop in sourcetree and meander back to the alpha 0.009 commit

Gets even weirder when it's like
"Hey guys! if got the original source!"

YAY

"Its on a quik80 tape in a proprietary backup format"

Wa wa waaaaaah

or a zip disk, or a 5.25 floppy, or an LS-120 disk

That thread has lots of interesting stuff I wonder if they could get dumps.. was Maverick one that needed resources? The dude in the thread seems pretty helpful so he might be up for taking lots of photos?

So just for fun I got to messing with Joel Silver playfield and did a quick fast and dirty stretch and skew for the playfield and got it pretty close! 32assassins Star Trek table is so nice that it doesn't look half bad and I even got the lights to line up fairly close lol the lower half sort of looks like a Joel Silver,The Pinball... if you squint..  I don't know but I thought it looked cool so far:

Care to release this as a WIP? Cause maybe it'll be useful at some point?

If i understood correctly, there MAY be matching Data East sound ROMs, but then maybe also not.

And then there must have been a prototype ROM to drive the standard sized DMD, but as that widebody machine apparently does not exist anymore, most likely these ROMs are also gone.

I'm just waiting to make sure its ok with 32 to use his Star Trek first :)

(then add around 20-30 hours of editing and smoking lol).. but if hes cool with it I'll at least put out a texture pack for people to play around with if they want to...

I'm getting pretty close to fished with what I can do with Aaron Spelling so kind of getting sidetracked with Joel SIlver :) still have a few things for Spelling but pickings is slim..

Messed with the JS backglass.. didn't do any corrections yet but it is squarish now. Might be kind of funny to do a b2s as is lol as its currently the "best" picture of the back glass we have..

popcorn/crystal WIP not sure if I like it yet:

Yeah.. its one of those pictures where you think - is that the best you could do?.. almost not worth uploading to pin data base.. almost...

the glare is insane and deep and all over, Id almost say the reflection is easier to tell whats going on then the art of the back glass lol..

however dude has address and telephone in one of the pictures so mite see what I can find out... kinda scared just ring them but maybe..

Been cracking on Spelling again and been really working hard on the 'house' (the grey diverter box thing in the upper left). Pulled and cleaned up the 'Hollywood" and 'lil rock' stickers. Pulled and redid the 'C award'. I used the Emmy sticker as a base and redid it all crispy HD.. only question is what is the cursive text saying? "Looping" "Double Jackpot" then "?"... and on the Grey "cup" sticker what does it say?.. "mach"...

Thank you for the vpx conversion Balater, and all the contributors for improbing the scans, great teamwork :)

The switches of the slingshots have to be corrected, we can see from the DOF the slingshots solenoids are not triggered,here under the right slingshot switches.

Sub LeftSlingShot_Slingshot
    PlaySound SoundFX("fx_slingshot",DOFContactors), 0, 1, -0.05, 0.05
    LeftSling4.Visible = 1
    Lemk.RotX = 26
    LStep = 0
    vpmTimer.PulseSw 30
    LeftSlingShot.TimerEnabled = 1
End Sub

Sub LeftSlingShot_Timer
    Select Case LStep
        Case 1:LeftSLing4.Visible = 0:LeftSLing3.Visible = 1:Lemk.RotX = 14
        Case 2:LeftSLing3.Visible = 0:LeftSLing2.Visible = 1:Lemk.RotX = 2
        Case 3:LeftSLing2.Visible = 0:Lemk.RotX = -10:LeftSlingShot.TimerEnabled = 0
    End Select
    LStep = LStep + 1
End Sub

Sub RightSlingShot_Slingshot
    PlaySound SoundFX("fx_slingshot",DOFContactors), 0, 1, 0.05, 0.05
    RightSling4.Visible = 1
    Remk.RotX = 26
    RStep = 0
    vpmTimer.PulseSw 38
    RightSlingShot.TimerEnabled = 1
End Sub

There miss also a SoundFX in the solkickback

' KarateKid
Sub SolKickBack(Enabled)
If Enabled Then
        Playsound SoundFX("bumper_retro",DOFContactors)
LaserKick.Enabled=True
        LaserKickP1.TransY = 90
Else
LaserKick.Enabled=False
        vpmtimer.addtimer 500, "LaserKickRes '"
End If
End Sub

If you can fix that for the next release Balater.

So I had an idea after playing some Theater of Magic. Its got a great mirror effect where that portion of the table is doubled and flipped around to simulate a mirror.

Could something like that be done on this just on a larger scale? :hmm: That would look sweet!

Still working on this one but have been working on getting tables set up and what not. The playfield and plastics (HD Sling shots added) have been uprezzed to a very large size mostly for working on but the program did a good job of clearing some of it up. They're all pretty ridiculously large but here's so far and more to come eventually:

How can I remove the DMD from the playfield screen?

It doesn't appear to be in the table options that I could find, nor is it in the script that I recognize as such.

Set this line to False

    UseVPMColoredDMD = true

Thanks Outhere.  I use Lucky1's DMD so I really didn't need it there.
