Black Knight Williams 1980

Screenshots
This table is based on the Williams Black Knight table from 1980

The lights based on Destruk's script.

Thanks to Leo and Jolo for pictures and testing the table. I made this table for them to use in their cab.

And a special thanks to Classic Playfields for sending us the pictures of the playfields.

What's New in Version 4.0.0 (See full changelog)

  • 4.0.0 Updated 10.9.2022
  • - Updated to my VPX7 physics
  • - cleaned up and deleted unused graphics & reduced the size of the table
  • - Added my VPX7 LUT changer to darken the table (hold down LEFT CTRL while change with RIGHT CTRL). Including GI brightness adjustment. Use the LUT changer together with the day/night slider to give the table the level of darkness you prefer.
  • - Updated my mechanical set of sounds to a more "under the glass" sound, as people seem to like those kind of sounds better.
  • - Changed the Environment image to enhance a little the object shadows.
  • - Made the light inserts warmer.
  • - Added SSF sound commands.
  • - Some graphic changes, like the apron and the desktop letters.
  • 1.3.1 Updated 24.01.2018
  • - Added missing plastic, thanks Kruge99
  • 1.3.0 Updated 20.01.2018
  • - Added better plastics, thanks to Tio Italo for the images.
  • - adjusted a little the flippers.
  • - adjusted the loop wall, as kristian suggested. Still a wrong way loop won't drain the whole time, but it is a little bit more unpredictable if a faster ball enters the wrong way.
  • 1.2.1 updated 31.12.2017
  • - added a backdrop for the desktop view
  • - fixed multiball sound script error
  • 1.2.0 updated 31.12.2016
  • - updated for VPX 10.2 and vpinmame 2.8

Holy cow. This game plays freaking awesome. The ball sounds on the table are spot on. Magna-save is better then the real game. Kudos to EVERYONE that made this table possible. You have created another masterpiece JP. Thank you Destruk for keeping all of the ROM's up to date plus the millions of other things you do.

This is a great reproduction of Black Knight and works perfectly in my cab. Thanks jpsalas for all you do for the pinball community.

I do not have music. The "2000" version is music. Is it ROM's fault?

WOW,

AMAZING

Thank You

Great table.. BUT... the most annoying sound in the history of pinball!

Thanks.

Greetz.

Thanks for all your hard work!  Really cool Table!

My favorite...  I have the acutal pin, very accurate.  Can't wait to see if this gets the latest JP updates too...

I'm not getting any of the voice sounds anymore when playing this table. Pretty sure I was at one point, but now not.

I get the PinMAME sounds, and it seems like I'm getting certain ROM sounds (like the horse's hoof beats), but not the voice.

ROM zip definitely contains:

  • speech4.532
  • speech54.532
  • speech6.532
  • speech7.532

What setting am I missing?

EDIT: okay, I'm able to activate the Sound Diagnostics (0), and it cycles through all the voice samples, but I'm unable to hear them during gameplay.

I've been playing virtual pinball since I was a kid.

This Black Knight recreation feels smooooooth (I streched out that word on purpose)!

With other virtual recreations of this table I feel like I struggle to get the ball where I need to go. First time playing this one and I already got a 3-ball multiball!

This table flows super well and feels super realistic, but the issue is I can't see the upper playfield well at all and I have to adjust the Inclination and FOV manually to see it.

Other than that, amazing job.

I built my v-pin basically for this table, my all time favorite. Needless to say, it does NOT disappoint! It's amazing, thank you!
