Destruk and Noah Fentz at the Chicago Pinball Expo!

It's nearly time for one of the most exciting pinball shows of the year, the Chicago Pinball Expo! This year promises to be even more exciting for the virtual pinball crowd than ever before. We are proud to announce that our very own Destruk and myself, Noah Fentz, will be conducting a virtual pinball seminar on Thursday, October 21st at 8:00pm. This will be a two-part seminar consisted of a one hour chat, followed by a one hour session in which the audience can bring their laptops and put together their own table!
Big thanks go out to Robert Berk and Mike Pacak, Chairmen of the Chicago Pinball Expo. Visit their site at http://pinballexpo.net for registration, events schedule, and further details.

Hope to see you there!

The Future of Future Pinball?

The entire VPF community has, for months, been asking, discussing, and debating the question, "Will Future Pinball expire, or will there be an update?"

This has brought on various methods to circumvent the expiration, which we here at VPF neither support nor condone. So, for the sake of getting to the bottom of it, Noah Fentz contacted Black (FP developer), and this is what he had to say ...

"Don't worry I will release a version before then ...
I wont leave the community starting [the new year] without
a version that they can use."
- Black

Never have so few words meant so much to the FP community. So, rest easy, continue developing the tables you're currently working on, and don't worry. By next year, this will all be history, but Future Pinball certainly won't.

Visual Pinball 9.0.9 Update

This Visual Pinball 9 Report announces activity of the VP Dev Team over the course of the previous month. This in no way guarantees a new version or that the following will be implemented in the next version of VP9. Currently being worked on, or already submitted, include the following:

- Deadzone slider. You can use the slider or type in a value from 0-100 % for analog motion controllers.

- Further optimizations.

- Key mapping, except for ESC.

- TAB moves down correctly in options.

- Added Microsoft Freestyle Pro USB as a motion device.

- Fixed script formatting.

- All keys can now be remapped except escape [esc].

- HDRender/Alternate Render global options.

- Paste with save names option.

Again, a big thanks to the VP Dev Team for the continued efforts! I think I can speak for everyone when I say we eagerly anticipate everything you do to make VP9 a better program for our beloved hobby!

LED ROMs Available at VPF

For those of you who have real machines and would like to have the latest ROMs with LED ghosting fixed, look no further. Thanks to the efforts of destruk, those ROMs are now available at VPF!

If you want to use LEDs in your real WPC era pinball machine, using the roms eliminates ghosting and flicker. VPForums now hosts the roms with the patched code in the LED Roms section. -- Info is here: http://emmytech.com/arcade/led_ghost_busting/
