Star Trek the Next Generation VP91x 1.2FS

Version: 1.2.0
Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): jpsalas

Description:
Based on the Williams table from 1993
This is the FS version with higher resolution graphics than the desktop version.

Again, if your graphics card can't display the bigger graphics, then get the desktop version and extract these graphics: flashers1, flashers2, flashers3, pf, pf_a, pf_b, pf_on, plastics, plastics_on and ramps. Then import them in the table. You can also do it the other way if you want higher resolution graphics on the desktop version smile.gif

JP

Update 1.01
Fixed/added:
- bumpers looping and the ball never going up through the lanes
- Ball going strait to the left outlane from the bumpers
- kickback not working and increased the strength.
- top lanes plastics graphics were missing
- Sometimes the ball got lost and the table made a ball search when using cannons. This is not completely fixed, but even it is better than before, still happens from time to time.
- flippers were too weak to shoot the Borg.
- Increased the strength of the kickback
- added motor sound to the cannons
- added some extra walls/ramps to keep the ball from jumping out of the ramps and going inside some walls.

I would like to thank Sheltemke for testing these fixes.

JP

Update 1.2
- Simply updated for VP91x with alpha ramps and some adjustments in the settings as with the rest of my tables for VP91x.
- I have also ressurected my chrome ball that I used 4 years ago smile.gif This time as a PNG transparent ball smile.gif

Well, it almost took 10 days to make smile.gif But the script and the layout were already done, but still it tooks many hours everyday smile.gif. What it took most of the time wa to come up with a design for the cannons using dropwalls. I didn't want to use reels. But many of you will know that from VP: if you put two dropwalls on top of each other you can be sure that one of then disappears smile.gif

Here it is what happens when you spend too much time making tables: I said "hei" to my wife (that's 'hi' in norwegian) and she said back "uh? who are you?", "your husband, you know?", "oh, it's like this you look like, I had forgotten!", hahaha.

Yes, next will be Indy 500. And I hope to make it in two weeks, since Sunday in two weeks I'll take a cruise in the Mediterranean (well, me an my wife smile.gif ). The boat is called Norwegian Jade, a quite big ship! smile.gif. I have seen that the graphics in my Indy 500 will need a big redo, so I guess I'll start tomorrow with them smile.gif

JP

Edit: Now that I look at the FS picture I see that I have forgotten to add the GI on the top lane plastics smile.gif, hahaha. I knew I had forgotten something but I didn't remember what smile.gif

I am getting the "Could not create offscreen surface" error.

How do I fix it? I replaced the graphics from the desktop version...

"Could not create offscreen surface" mostly means that your card can run with the Hardware Rendering on. You'll need to deselect that option on the editor, save the table, quit VP and run the table again. There is a lot of explanations in this forum about this error.

Yes, Indy 500 will have an FS version too.

I'll take a look now to some of the issues that has come up with the table (see the desktop version thread smile.gif ).

Strange. I could not uncheck that checkbox. Rebooting, however, has seemed to fix the problem. I have a 1GB memory card...

The game is wonderful. Thank you!

Morning guys!

"-Also, the ball escapes more from the bumper region at the left side of the delta quadrant ramp then to the lane at the right side (to the topmost flipper), and while it departs at the left side it's often going straight for the left outlane. This can't be really prevented even with timely nudging."

Same for me with FS version. dry.gif

"- In some modes when the cannons have to be loaded, the machine sometimes doesn't load the ball properly and it takes a ball search to find it. It then proceeds correctly by the way so that doesn't break the game."

Same too, but i don't care this, since the machine find the ball in ~10sec.
