JP's Spider-Man VP91x v1.1.1 FS

Version: 1.1.1
Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): jpsalas

Description:
FS version of my Spider-Man
Since it was a little dificult to get the leds in the right place, I decided to make an FS version.

Update 1.1.1
- Adjusted the table for VP12
- Fixed the multiball errors
- Changed the Venom ramp to send the ball to the left ramp to the flipper (by popular request)
- some small changes in the graphics and in the rules (mostly the ball save doesn't work while in multiball)
- added a manual in the zip file in PDF format.
- higher resolution graphics in the FS version

These are my tables, sorted by date, all them playable with VPX 7 or newer:

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

Any suggestions?

Can UVP be scripted without using vpm?

Hmm, I think it only works with vpm, so maybe we can fake it out by using a rom and not displaying it. At least we'd get the backglass and lamps.
The display however would have to stay on the primary monitor. I'll give it a try.

ok, you can get UVP to work with Spiderman if you choose a known working rom and hide the display and turn off sound in the script.
This way you can have a UVP Spiderman backglass lit up in your cabinet when playing this amazing release. HEre are the details:

I've chosen high roller casino rom, though it really doesn't matter which DMD rom you call. At least its Stern smile.gif
You'll have to change the script on the FS release to this:

comment out this line, it will get loaded later
' ExecuteGlobal GetTextFile("core.vbs"):If Err Then MsgBox "Can't open ""core.vbs"""

And revise this section to look like this:

'***********
' Table Init
'***********
LoadVPM "01120100", "wpc.VBS", 3.26
Const cGameName = "hirolcas"
Sub LoadVPM(VPMver, VBSfile, VBSver)
On Error Resume Next
If ScriptEngineMajorVersion < 5 Then MsgBox "VB Script Engine 5.0 or higher required"
ExecuteGlobal GetTextFile(VBSfile)
Set Controller = CreateObject("UltraVP.BackglassServ")
If Err Then MsgBox "Can't Load VPinMAME." & vbNewLine & Err.Description
On Error Goto 0
End Sub

Sub Table1_Init()

With Controller
.GameName = cGameName
If Err Then MsgBox "Can't start Game" & cGameName & vbNewLine & Err.Description : Exit Sub
.SplashInfoLine = "Spiderman" & vbNewLine & "Stern 2007"
.HandleMechanics = 0
.ShowDMDOnly = 1
.ShowFrame = 0
.ShowTitle = 0
.Hidden="true"
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("sound") = 0
.Run
If Err Then MsgBox Err.Description
End With
On Error Goto 0

Table1.MaxBallSpeed = 50
GameStarted = 0
Loadhs

Of course like any UVP backglass, you'll need to rename your table to UVP Spiderman, download the UVP Spiderman.uvp and backglass from FDs site,
put the files in the appropriate folders: C:\HyperPin\Media\Visual Pinball\Backglass Images for backglass, C:\HyperPin\UltraVP for the uvp file.
Then, edit the Visual Pinball.xml with the following lines:

<game name="UVP spiderman">
<description>UVP spiderman</description>
<manufacturer>Stern</manufacturer>
<year>2007</year>
<type>SS</type>
</game>

LTA what's the difference between 4;3 and fullscreen and spanned mode...I don't quite understand all these terms maybe someone can set me straight. I know 4:3 is for one screen so the others are for two? 16:9 is just single monitor widescreen right? Thanks. smile.gif

This is a really great table. Thanks alot for making this.

Is there any way to move the dmd to the backglass?

*bump*

This is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite machines. I may have to save up and buy the real thing.

I can't seem to move the DMD? If it is not movable, is there any way to at least make it larger?

Thanks again for the great table.

If the table was spanned, then it could put the segmented displays anywhere you like. There should be some way to make it larger though - you can group select the dmd area on the backdrop view and right click to scale it bigger. Then you'll want to translate it so it's in the visible area.

You can't move the display text to the second monitor, but you can expand the alphanumeric text to 1.5 times the normal size:

- Load the table, click on background
- magnify one time, click select
- Highlight the alphanumeric text alongside the left of the table (draw a big box around it) and magnify 5 times (left click) so you can see one of the individual letters.
- right click on one of the letters that are highlighted, right click and change the scale to 1.5 times normal.
- click on the backdrop button to toggle to the table view and change ramp288 to a plain black ramp (no image) to display the large text.
- play the table and save it if successful. The entire top should have larger display readout.

Thanks. I can group select them, but I cant seem to right-click to scale them. I'll keep messing around with it.

Edit: I posted too slow.. Ill try that out luvthatapex. Thanks!

Edit2: Thank you guys. That works nicely, and is much easier to see now. Perfect.'

Edit3: lol sorry.. It seems that it looks like some of the LED's are burned out now.. strange.

Save, close vp, reopen vp. Then the LEDs should work again. - it's a bug that's existed for a long time with all VP versions and lights.

I have the same problem I'm not sure on the difference,
I have a 32" wide screen and I also have a 17" VGA.
I use the VP9 4:3 tables and drag the DMD to the
second screen, is this how other people do it
with the same set up?

Sorry if it's off topic.

There is a fix for this..

You put all the lights in a collection and run any light sequencer function and the light.states are restored or fixed. wink.gif

Of course this relies on authors scripting this into their tables in the first instance, though it does work.

Hoping someone can help.

I'd like to move the display from the top to the bottom of the playfield screen.
With my setup I'd find it easier to see that way.

Is it possible ?
