JP's Spider-Man VP91x v1.1.1

Version: 1.1.1
Category: VP 9.x Originals

Author(s): jpsalas

Description:
Original table by JPSalas
Layout based on the Stern table from 2007.

Thanks to StrangeLeo for the voices, music and testing. Also thanks to Kris from Holland for testing also the table. I did put together the sounds in the script so don't blame him when there are too many sounds on the table smile.gif

The layout is similar, but the rules are a little different from the Stern table. In this table you have to battle 5 villains and you have the help from New Gobling to get multiballs and many extra points by completing his missions.

The goal of the table is to defeat all the villains by batteling them one by one or all at the same time. All the battles can occur at the same time. And many multiballs can also be at the same time, so you may end up with too many balls on the table smile.gif

Read the enclosed .hta file, by pressing "R" during the game, or simply dobbelclick on it from Explorer.

Have fun!

JP

Update 1.1.1
- Adjusted the table for VP12
- Fixed the multiball errors
- Changed the Venom ramp to send the ball to the left ramp to the flipper (by popular request)
- some small changes in the graphics and in the rules (mostly the ball save doesn't work while in multiball)
- added a manual in the zip file in PDF format.
- higher resolution graphics in the FS version

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

I don't know how you do it, your tables just get better and better all the time. Thank you JP for this awesome release. biggrin.gif

This is an incredible table! I can't stop playing it! Its got a great balance, sounds and of course the excellent Spiderman layout.
I love what you have done with the rules. 5 stars all the way!

Now for the FS version for dual screen and cabinets, I wonder if we could do a uvp backglass? This would be INCREDIBLE in a cabinet.
Thank you so much JP, you made my day!

Thanks for all your comments! Remember this is an original, and there may still be errors in the rules, even if I have tested the script during a long time.

About the FS version: StrangeLeo72 is working on it. The table is angle independent, so there is no problem rotating it. The problem may be to move the score display to the other monitor, since it is done with lights (like an 80's led display). The good thing is that it can be rotated, something that it is not posible if it was made with fonts.

Is there a way to rotate the score display on any table? I know you can resize it, but to rotate... I've had this problem before, but never found an answer.

JP it was no problem to make the FS version, just the score display is the problem. I'm sure there is a way, there always is.... Here is what I did in a few minutes.
Looking froward to what Strangeleo72 can accomplish.

When rotating any of my tables to an FS view, you'll need to make a few adjustments to the flashers, just rotate them so they look horizontal to the table and increase their height. StrangeLeo is doing that. Also the villains should need to increase alittle the height, they'll look better.

Yes, the table is easy to rotate. The score display is also easy to rotate, you'll need to select all the lights, right click on one of them and choose rotate. The problem will be to move that score to another monitor. That can be a problem with originals. VPM scores/DMD are easy since they aren't drawn by VP. They are external and easy to move. If you want to add a background to the score just add a light under it, make it a rectangle of a dark color, and move it behind. (I know you knew all that, luvthatapex, but maybe others didn't knew)

Now to answer joeheeger, I guess you mean to rotate a vpm window (the score window of nearly all the vpinmame tables), you need to add this line to the table_init of each table:

Controller.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("rol")=0

change the 0 by 1 if you want to rotate it to 90 degrees to the left (rol = rotate left, 0=not rotated, 1=rotated). Destruk has explained this in this forum, just do a search, I'm sure you'll find it. cGameName is a constant that most of the scripts use and contains the name of the rom, some authors don't use that constant, so you may need to change it by the name of the rom. (something like Controller.Games("romname").Settings.Value("rol")=0
