Best Answer gtxjoe , 18 November 2015 - 10:21 PM

I dont have a joypad but can't you just open VP, and select the menu Preference-> Keys...

And use all the pull down menus to pick the joystick buttons you want to use

I read somewhere you could modify the VPMKeys.vbs file  found with your script files and change which keys do what function. You would right click on VPMKeys.vbs and click edit.

This would be used to modify for example, what numbers are used to add coin or start game. You would not adjust this to use a gamepad, only if you wanted to change what keys are used for Visual PinMame program on keyboard.

Check here for more info.. http://www.vpforums....showtopic=32931

If you are trying to find a gamepad to keyboard program that works and is highly configurable, try this ...

The Attachment in that post contains a preconfigured setup for the visual pinball program. Remember to right click and go to properties and click compatibility and make compatible with Win XP SP2, and check run as administrator. Click Apply.(Windows Vista and up)

When Program is started, minimize to toolbar, and you are ready to go.

There is nothing in the VBS Scripts that you can change, that will allow for gamepad use. It just changes what button on keyboard is pressed.

I would suggest you try the joytokey program again, and make sure after you download, to go into folder and right click on "JoyToKey.exe" and click properties... then click compatibility....then click run in compatibility mode for WinXP SP2...and press Apply....if you have Windows Vista or above, this is the only way to get the joytokey program to function properly. You can adjust the buttons through the joytokey program if you want to assign a different key for button, but included in the attachment is a preconfigured setup for visual pinball. Also the newer versions of joytokey are shareware. The one available here is not Shareware.

Also, after you double click joytokey to start, you will only need to minimize the window down to your toolbar.

So you will want to start this program, minimize to toolbar, then load your pinball table.

Here is direct link to program....http://www.vpforums....attach_id=22673

Included with download are same instructions as what is on this page.,,

no this doesn't work

I just tried to go to fullscreen and now it works great.

But online in FS.

Now i can run a simple BATCH Script to open JtK minimize and put a shortcut from it in Autostart.

Righclick in the folder where your JoyToKey.exe is and creat a new txt document.

now insert this lines

start /min JoyToKey.exe

safe it as XYZ.bat

now rightclick XYZ.bat and creat a shortcut this you have to put in autostart folder in start menu.

Now open JoyToKey.exe and rename the profile you normaly use to be the first in list

i put Infront of the name a 0(<-- zero)

now it will automaticale be selectet by using the batch.

Close it.

Doppelclick the XYZ.bat the console should flash up and close and in Tray the JoyToKey Symbol should be seen.

If so everything all right if not contact your administrator.

Using a FS (Full Screen) Table or a DT (Desk Top) Table, Online or Offline, should have no bearing on whether the joy to key method works, or the assigning joypad keys through Visual Pinball Editor with gtxjoe's method as described above in post # 5.

I would encourage you to use gtxjoe's method as seen above in post #5 in this Topic, as the Joy to Key emulator program is not needed.

I had to use FS Mode to use JtK.

Now i made a roll back via System Restore Point, and installt everything from new.

And i see more options under Preferences / Keys | where i can select a Joystick ^^

No tables crashes while loading.

JtK works in all Modes not only in FS.

Only new thing i see a PINMAMA windwo befor the tabel start. That i haven't seen before.

So thanks a lot,
