hi all.

started the build of my cabinet today.

facing a tiny problem.

got my samsung screen on a great price, but due to that it is on backorder for two more weeks.

anybody with simular samsung 46" that can provide me the measurements of the decased panel so i can continue my cabinet build ?

would be greatly appriciated !

my screen is the samsung series 5  the ue46eh5000

but i think all samsung 46" models carry the same panel so measurements of any other panel serves me (UN or any 6000 series model )

hope to hear soon ! thx guys

I know for a fact that Samsung uses different panels throughout the same series, some even have a larger bezel.

Top tip: wait for the LCD to arrive, decase it, then, and only then, adjust your cab's width !

A teacher once told me: Don't assume anything as assumption is the mother of all screw-ups ! ( nah, he actually used the f* word)

... gone fishin', no really.......

Decasing will void the warranty, but what choice do you have?

Here's how wide my Samsung UN46ES6003 46-Inch is:

Image area: 22" 3/4
Bezel thickness once decased: half an inch on each side

Total: 23" 3/4

This is true, but may be another solution, use/build a pin that will support the TV cased.  Its not so large that it is uncomfortable (using an Atari Time 2000 here and although I have a 42" TV in her cased, there is lots of room around it that I think a 46" cased might fit)

hmm...good idea Loafer. :) If you can get it in there in the original case, then if your expensive investment fails you have some recourse available.
