I think there might be some confusion on how the shift key works. It is a little different than all the rest. A normal key will send the keystroke immediately when you press it in. A shift key only sends the keystroke on release. So if your shift key is start, when you hold it in, any other button you press will send its shifted value. Then when you release it, it won't do anything. If you press it in and push no other keys while it is pressed in, it will send a '1' only while you release it.

It should be obvious that my comment would be for people other than you. Or perhaps you were making a joke. :pinnochio:

pause button is not really needed since exit button pauses game - but you can use it same as exit key

to do that you would have to use check box in vp key settings - "override pbw defaults" - and set your buttons manually - without using button 7 for anything - exit button must be empty in vp

next put button 7 (Joy7) as your exitkey or exitkey1 in settings.ini in fplaunch section

I don't know what is wrong.

But by pressing "exit" once nothing happens when a VP game is started.

By holding exit, it will exit the game.

What I want is to see the beautiful menu but I can only see it when I have a keyboard connected.

What is wrong?

put joy8 or joy7 as exitkey in settings.ini

 Thank you very much! It works :-)

However, I wonder about something.

I have just installed Win7 64bit, starting HP takes a little longer.

But quiting a table takes 10-15 times as long as when I had Windows XP.

What is wrong? Is there a setting I am missing?

welcome to windows 7 - that's normal - you can't fix it, but you can always go back to xp if it is pc only for cab :)

Thank you blur :-)

I guess I was just hoping there where something I was missing.

As a software engineer I am curious about what the problem is? What program/instance is the problem? And will it ever be solved?

If you know :-)

i think it's a hp and old flash problem, and it will be solved in next hp release

only problem is hp and hs are not developed in small steps with small bug fixes - but only in big releases which take years to finsh them

I wish BBB or Dazz would tell use if these has been any decisions made if there will be a new HyperPin.  This would be incredible news if BBB decides to do it.   Please do it :)

I see, I would also like to know when/if there will ever be a update?

No fun in downgrading to XP and find out that a new version is just around the corner.

But there are no ETA or anything?

Well everything is working splendidly right now, and I even wrote an old school .bat file to launch my custom AutoHotkey script, and then launch HyperPin!

So, before I go and muck everything up, is there a safe way to REMOVE the SHUTDOWN option from the HyperPin exit menu?  I use a shared computer for pinball, so don't want to ever accidentally send a shutdown signal when attempting to exit from HyperPin :).

I assume I can just remove a line of code from the FPLaunch.ahk and then recompile, but since it's working now I don't want to screw it up :)

EDIT: Nevermind, found the option in the Settings.ini ;)

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, But if my current version is working well, what would be the advantages of updating to this one. I do not want to have to remap my buttons on my pincab.

many thanks Blur, really appreciated  :) works fine on my system (Win 7 Ultimate 64bit)  Shame about the lag (used to be so fast b4), but just happy Hyperpin now exits properly.

Personally I didn't really want to go back to XP because I got graphical glitches on FP with my graphics card plus SSD's easier to set up under win 7.

Does anyone get this issue?

When accessing the instructions for Cactus Canyon if the right shift key (right flipper) is pressed, an error comes up and the right shift is disabled.

it's a known bug, will be fixed in next release, it happens when instruction are called twice

quick fix is to find these lines:

if (ending = "swf") { ; we have swf image
    Width := A_ScreenHeight*0.95
    Height := A_ScreenHeight*0.95

    ;SysGet, VirtualWidth, 78
    ;SysGet, VirtualHeight, 79

    ;Gui, 1: Destroy

and remove comment from last line and recompile with ahk L - ansi version

Hi:

sorry if this is lame question, but I am new at this and I can't figure out solution...

Everything starts fine and , I believe is correctly, configured. When I load game I have blue loading table frame, but when I try to exit (menu works) i got error message like this from FPlaunch.exe:

Error: Failed attempt to launch program or document:

Action: <c:\HyperPin\focus.exe>

Params: < hyperpin.exe 500>

               Line#

--->  2813:Run, "%A_ScriptDir%\focus.exe" %hyperpinexe%

%focusSleep%, hide

The current Thread will exit

After this I can hit ESC and juts exit Hyperpin...

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?!

EDIT: looks like i found reason of all this - my antiviurus was messing something up... i disabled deferences and all seems to works fine for now.... wav sound  mentioned earlier and played 3 times when existing table is annoying!

Ok I updated my cab to this so I could get PinballFX2 to work everything seems ok I just dont like the loud clicking noise after i leave a table like 3 or 4 clicks.. I'm guessing its the focus program. is there anyway to turn the sound off without loosing the wheel sound?
