..Hi Zab,
Check to see if the kicker is enabled. i've done it before where i did the script correct but forgot about a little radio button in the options that says 'enable'.
I hope this is all it might be.
Cheers,

What I did when I was learning was to look at how others have scripted the tables. Both original and vpm tables. I chose to look at the tables made by Eala (originals and VP only tables) and TAB/destruk (for the vpm tables). I also looked at other authors, but I found the scripts by pacdude, shiva, scapino, greywolf and others a little confusing because they were using more advanced techniques or they used a lot of decoration and extra code and I got lost trying to understand that code. So when I was making my first vpm tables you could say the script was made by "destruk" since each time I had to script something new for me, like a hole, a vuk, or a mech, then I had to look at how destruk made the old table or a similar object from another table, otherwise I didn't know where to start ![]()
But now we have a very nice guide, as Bob wrote, and some older guides, as faralos wrote (I think I had that one in pdf format, but I don't know from were I got it).
Also in the VBS Scripts (from the essential files menu) contains a vbsdoc.html which explains all the functions availabe in the core.vbs for scripting of vpinmame tables. At the beginning that document was like Greek to me
but after reading destruk scripts I started to understand how it worked.
So, use those guides as a reference and start with an easy table and look at how other have scripted similar objects. I think this is the best way to learn, at least is what I did ![]()

After 8 years almost non-stop making tables, I take a rest or better said, I retire from making vpm tables mostly due to two things: my work, reducing the free time to almost none, and my interest in making something new and different with VP.

my way was to tear into originals since they seemed to me to be the easiest to code
and I agree with JP when he says that some of the older table templates have way too much coding
to really understand especially for a newbie, but they work well so I used them for my earlier builds
I still don't understand how some of them work (attract modes, specials, etc)
but since they worked I used them
But start with a new table then add something into it like a kicker
see if you can get that to work then add something else
and continue this way until you have satisfied all your curiosity
look at the coding for something easier like slingshots or pop bumpers
and read those manuals religiously!
and of course any time you get stuck just post here or pm one of us and we'll help ya' best we can
good luck and always remember to have fun...!
oh as for the vp manual I just Googled it and it popped up

even after three years of building I still don't use the timers on the actual table
I still put them in in the coding itself and keep them off the playfield
I don't know why they are available both in the table editor AND in the script though
and never used the ones that you actually physically put onto the play field
I just write them into the script as I need them
