Hello I have sifted through the forums to try and get to the bottom of how to set the paths for the background music for the table. I don't know where the directory is to reroute it, I have created a music folder to go in 9.1.4., and found the mp3s but where is the option at? Thanks.

Song files (mp3) go in a folder called music in the vp root (ie c:\games\visual pinball\music).

They are then called upon from the table script. Near the beginning of the script you will see the calls to each of the tracks (and throughout the rest of the script).

make sure you put the music in mp3 form

song by song and not in another folder

also named music inside the original one!

Yeah it happens

Tried renaming the files to match what's in the script though it won't let me use quotes when renaming. Do I have to have every song in order to get it to play?

You have to use quotes in the script - but the actual mp3 filenames do NOT have quotes.

Order doesn't matter depending on what the script does.

Hmmm still no luck. Here's what Black Sabbath looks like:

TrackFilename(1)="BS70 - The Wizard.mp3"

I had to get the mp3 from other place because the link here is dead, so I have to rename the mp3 so the script recognizes. Can you explain how I would rename it, and thanks in advance.

Isn't there also limitation on the quality of the MP3?  ie: 128kbps constant bit rate is ok, but 256kbps variable may not work or something like that??

Yeash that sucks bigtime, if that's the deal I just checked in the details and it looks like these mp3s are to big. Know anywhere I can get those links that used to be here to the music files for Black Sabbath, ACDC and Rush?

Initially it was thought to be a quality limitation but it turns out it was related to ID tags in the mp3 files. Make sure you run the files through an ID tag cleaner to remove all the entries. Then try again.

Or gimme a sec and I will get new links

Looks like MediaFire is checking inside your ZIP and flagged ACDC and Black Sabbath 70's as copyrighted and blocked sharing.  Oddly, the other two are OK...

I see what you're doing there...  apparently MediaFire has not yet obtained RAR inspection technologies ;)

Thanks a bunch I downloaded the songs and put them in my Music folder in the root directory, and they are showing up in the dot matrix display now, however they still aren't playing for some reason. Did I maybe do something wrong? Also if it's not to much trouble can you link me to the Grateful Dead mp3 files if you have these? Thanks again. =D

Update I finally got the music playing on the tables now! It was because I didn't have the music folder in the right place, now it's fixed! Awesome! :dblthumb:  :dblthumb:

Awesome is there really a Kiss music mod table, too? I heard there was and I can't find it. I got the Beatles Yellow Submarine running and it rules too.

I believe there's a Future Pinball version of Kiss with added music, but not sure of a VP version?

Slam released a really awesome KISS table complete with new sounds AND music - but yeah it's FP only. There is also a Metallica one by Slam which is top notch but FP only. Those 2 are great for music themed tables.

I've tried to get Future Pinball running without success, and also looked through the forums to find out how to make it work. Is there some other kind of emulator or something I have to download, it doesn't work with VP emulators it seems?
