Hi,

Thanks for the detailled installation tips.

The one little detail I had to fix was to execute the registration  exe as Admin.

Then everything was fine.  And the directB2S backglasses are really big fun.

BIG thank you to the community

Okay, well I un-installed everything to start over!
Here is what's going on I followed the directions to a T, I click on the B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp and it prompts me to run as administrator. (I'm running XP witch it shouldn't need me to run as admin) so I right click and try to run as administrator and it won't let me do that either. Keeps asking me for a password witch I have never set up and have never needed one before. Mind you I was running a Beta version of the app with 4 tables installed before the new 1.0 was released.
Okay it keeps telling me this now:
Oops, the 'B2S backglass server' is not registered. Have you started this app as 'Administrator'?
(Cannot create ActiveX component.)
I'm stumped here! Weird thing is last night when I just copy pasted the new 1.0 into the tables folder it registered no problem but the 4 previous tables I had running with the beta wouldn't work. Now with a fresh install nothing is working.
Sigh.....

I've had a long day at work today...... I forgot to put the dll file in the tables folder. lol :-)

On another note the 4 original tables I had running with the beta still don't work. Cosmic Gunfight, Sorcerer, Pinbot and Taxi are still giving me the

startIndex cannot be larger than length of string.
Parameter name:startIndex

Ok

I too am having a similar issue I've put all files into the tables directory, unblocked the .dll and run the serverregister app as admin.  Still get an error:

Oops, the 'b2s backglass server' is not registered. Have you started this app as 'Administrator'?

(cannot create ActiveX component.)

Trying to run ver 1.2 in Win 7 pro 64bit.

Any ideas?

Ok, this seems like an odd issue but i will ask.

using DOF every direct back glass works for EM or SS tables no problem. B2S back glass DOF does not work for EM tables but does work for SS tables.

Any ideas?

my guess is you have a wrong dll in there…redownload and make sure you over write all files in table folder with new version..i bet it works then..

Is there an option somewhere to set all db2s Grill's and DMD's default to hidden ?

I've switched to a real DMD and now I have to open all my tables and make these changes one by one.

Did you check the other files in the in the tables folder that are associated with this one that they are unblocked - I run windows 7 64... I do not use any compatibility mode or administrator and works fine

Did you install DirectX 9.0

Strange stuff, the unblock of the dll and exe would not work in the program directory.
I had to copy them first to the user folder, unblock them and then copy the back to the program folder and it worked.

Must be a group policy for the program folder

I noticed that if the server is set to run in exe mode, it will not use custom resolution files per table (*.res), it will just use the default one. In standard mode this works fine, but on some tables the server kills fps on the table in that mode, whereas exe mode runs fine.

Is there a dffierent way to do this, or is this a bug?
