Howdy folks!

I was on the phone tonight talking with one of our fellow members, and he asked if I could enable Tapatalk on our forum. I recall a number of these requests prior to our upgrade, and it actually played a part in motivating the upgrade, since our previous forum version wasn't compatible.

Well, now it is, so here it is!

:)

For those of you unfamiliar ...

Tapatalk is a forum app on the iPhone, Android, webOS, Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry. Tapatalk Forum App provides super fast on-the-go forum access to majority of the discussion forums that has activated the Tapatalk plugin.

Hmmm ...

Minutes after enabling, we get hit with a spammer ...

Will have to look into the potential for more in the morning.

:hmm:

the spammers are getting into the phone apps now? Is nothing safe any more?
I own a 'dumb' phone so have no clue on how to even use apps but it sounds like a cool idea
if not for the spamming so now one can be addicted to the vp world
even while out shopping or doing errands! I bet all the wives/partners just love this!!

I don't get it. I came to VPF yesterday and saw the button to add tapatalk. OK, no clue what it is, but I will try it. So I added the plugin to Chrome. I cam back to the site, and now wonder: what was the point? I see nothing different. I have a tapatalk icon in the corner of my browser but when it click it, it says "Please visit any tapatalk activated forum to get started." What is this supposed to do? At first I thought maybe it was a chat replacement since there is no chat link any more.
Uhm, am I missing something?

So... no one wants to explain this tapatalk?

It's detailed in the first post. It's primarily a mobile feature.

Ok, just wondering if anyone else is having issues with reading forum threads with tapatalk... If I open a thread with more than 10 posts, the first 10 posts get repeated on every page. PM's/Conversations work fine and they don't exhibit this issue, it only happens when reading forum threads. I have tried other sites such as the Hyperpin forums, and those appear just fine, I only experience this issue here.

If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated, whether I am doing something wrong, or it is an issue with the forums, would be nice to know either way.

They released an update for IPB the other day. That would probably be the cause. I'll update it later tonight when I get home.

Thanks for enabling Tapatalk.  I find it very useful, even though I'm only using it at home on my iPod Touch.  It does tend to crash quite often though...

The same problem with repeated posts has just happened on another site I frequent, and they had to revert to IPB 3.3.4 to fix this.
