Just bought the LEDWIZ and I want to start on an easy table. I currently alo have an ipac.

I read Pinball electrical v 1.07 and was referenced to Pixalmagics thread. I followed his link to his webpage and found some more tutorials and how to build the .ini file for the table I want use.

I understand how to build the .ini file through the webpage and a manual. What I don't understand is what files are needed to interface the ledwiz with vp. I read the thread on how to configure the ledwiz-pacdrive. There is also a link to download some files

core.vbs (v3.33 improved nudging/tiliting)
FPLaunch.exe (with pause.png pause function and working circus voltaire playfield dmd)
HPLedControl.exe (for blinky buttons during hyperpin browsing)
HPLedControl.ini (for config your buttons during hyperpin browsing)
ledcontrol.ini (your ledwiz config table file, you can generate your own with pixelmagics config tool)
ledcontrol.vbs (newest ledcontrol.vbs version v0.2.4.5, fixed flipperbutton color)
ledwizm05.ocx (ocx file, for working ledwiz)
pause.png (nice pause.png image for pause function during gameplay)

Are these the files I need to install in order for VP to interface with the LEDWIZ? If so, do they go in the tables folder?

I am assuming this is correct and vp then references the .ini file for the table I am using. Would the table script need any modifications also?

thank you for any guidance.

Put these files into your Hyperpin directory:
FPLaunch.exe
HPLedControl.exe
HPLedControl.ini

Put these files into your VP Tables directory:
core.vbs
ledcontrol.ini (The content of this file is generated using pixelmagic's ledwiz tool)
ledcontrol.vbs
ledwizm05.ocx

Next register the ocx file by typing this on the command line:
Regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball\Tables\ledwizm05.ocx

Just make sure you change the path in the above command to wherever you installed VP

You don't really need the pause.png file. If you want to use it, put it in the images directory located within the Hyperpin directory.

Pixelmagic's tool will configure all the tables for you based on the output assignments you've selected for all your toys / leds, so you won't need to make any modifications unless you don't like the default setup.

You may also want to search for darkfalls thread on he set and clear files for the ledwiz. It allos you to setup custom stuff for hyperpin browsing and also clears the outputs when you exit a table so they don't get stuck on.

Using my phone or I would post a link.'

I am missing something. I added the files and generated the ini file. I get no lights on my start button. It is connected to the L1. I put on a volt meter and I get a fluctuating .5 and .3 volts. any ideas? I included a sample of my config. I change afm's settings to test with. I added the white and the value later to troubleshoot.

Have you tested to make sure the light works properly with something like ledblinky?

There's a program within ledblinky called "GenLEDBlinkyInputMap.exe" that you can use to test each of your outputs on the ledwiz.

Use pixelmagic''s config tool to generate the ledcontrol.ini. People have already gone through and configured all the leds and solenoids for most of the tables. You simply just tell the config tool what your output assignments are for your ledwiz.

Also check out the Hyperpin forums. Most of your cabinet building questions have probably been answered over there.

Hey guys, need some help. I'm trying to get my contactors to go and have done all of the above for the exception of the HyperPin files. Trying to run Cactus Canyon and I get nothing. Should I be changing the "cc" in the ledcontrol.ini to the actual Cactus Canyon table name?? What else may I try to see of these things work.

Leave the names as they are, the ledwiz goes by the rom name, not the table name.

When you registered the ocx did you get a confirmation message in the cmd window?

If you look at the ini file above, you'll see that he hasn't got anything turned on bet the afm start button and even that is set to a pwm signal, not a true on or off state.

Go into your ini file and set the 1st output in the string for cc to "ON" , save the file and run the cactus canyon table from vp and see if the output connected to #1 is on

Thanks so much Zeb, it ended up being the Core.vbs file, was missing the last ledcontrol line. However I did notice what you were a saying about turning some things on, is this normal for items to be turned off? One other thing, whichever light was on last stays on when I exit the table, ie coin, start etc, any way to get rid of that?

You need darkfall's upgraded files for ledwiz. It clears the buffer upon exit.

Would you mind elaborating on that...

Am trying to get my Start & Launch to work on Cactus Canyon also.

How should the below read & what do the L88, W18 & all the other numbers refer to?

This is my ledcontrol.ini entry for Cactus Canyon and I get no outputs either.  Outputs are working fine in other tables.

Gil, one thing on yours is that you have the rom name as cc, is that the name of your rom, I read earlier that this bit should be changed to the rom name, I could of course be wrong???

Well I haven't learned much about all this yet.  I'm using the ledcontrol.ini file from Zeb which already had cc in there and I have several files in my rom folder that being with "cc_".

I do think that the exact rom name has to be used but nowhere near sure on this yet.
