Red & Ted's Road Show VP912 v1.0.1FS

Version: 1.0.1
Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): jpsalas, bent98, bodydump,

Description:
based on the table by Williams from 1994
I should like to thank bent98 and bodydump for their playfield and plastics. And also Sikarkades for the pictures of the ramps, and to all who sent me pictures.

The table is angle independent so it will be easy to adjust it to your monitor and preferences.

Update 1.0.1
- removed the shaker effect

These are my tables, sorted by date, all them playable with VPX 7 or newer:

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

Yes, this is a wide body table, so the ball will look smaller, but it is the same size smile.gif

To change the ball size isn't very easy in a vpm table, since the balls are created in the solenoids subs (well, they are defined in the trough definition), so it doesn't use a standard "kicker.createball". And to change that you'll need to change the solenoid subs to do not use a call to a cvpmBallStack (solenoid activated trough), but to use a normal kicker. Then you can use the kicker method CreateSizedBall to create a bigger ball. Well, it is not easy for me to explain smile.gif

I'm not sure why this is happening but I downloaded the VP911 standalone zip file and extracted the new exe and dll to my VP folder. When I load this table the play field looks blurry sad.gif It plays great otherwise but not very transparent so not sure what all this hype about alpha transparencies in VP911 is all about lol just kidding.

Great work and I can't wait to fix this so I can fully enjoy this release much like all your previous releases. Thanks JP and welcome back. I had to get my co-worker translate what you were posting on the retrovicio forums lol

Hahaha, I'm sure if I read again all that about the ball size, then I'm sure I don't understand it either. Anyway it was for Chriz since he asked about how to change the ball size, and actually isn't very easy in a vpm table, unless you make a few/ a lot changes to the script. I haven't tried that so I'm not sure how much job it is involved.

@mwong168: I guess you need to turn on HR in the Preferences - Video Options. HR is a global option and it needs to be turned on.

This was my first time trying the newest VP as I never updated and been running 9.07 in my cab this whole time. I never knew about the HR option being changed to global since 9.08 and I only spent 5 mins this morning before I had to leave for work and didn't get to tinker around much but can't wait to try this when I get home. I can't wait to give your Flintstones a run and see how it plays compared to the real machine which I picked up a few weeks ago.

Yes, this is a wide body table, so the ball will look smaller, but it is the same size smile.gif

Ok so what factors impact the ball size? In tables like Airborne, the ball is huge. In tables like this and star trek it's small. In IJ (also another wide body) the ball is sort of large. I actually prefer the small ball size in this table. The flippers are sized smaller as well. The whole playfield is larger. It makes sense. But looking at the table dimensions comparing airborne (huge ball) and this (small ball) there really isn't that much difference in dimensions to account for a doubly sized ball. I believe both tables use the default ball size based on the fact that I do not see this in the scripts, so what does control this?
