Replay Adjustment - Williams System 11 and 11A

Procedure to adjust replay levels on Williams System 11 and 11A tables

Posted by ta2686 on Apr 17 2013 10:07 PM
Here is the procedure to set replay levels on Williams System 11 and 11A tables. There were the first Williams tables that offered the operator the option of having either fixed replay levels or what Williams termed auto replay percentage levels.

Auto replay percentage means that after a certain number of plays (usually 500 plays) the machine would either increment the replay level by 100,000 points, decrement the replay level by 100,000 points, or not change it at all depending upon how the table has been played (i.e. how many high score credits were awarded, how many times replay levels were surpassed, etc.)

1. Press 9 to enter diagnostic mode.

2. Press 8 to enter test mode.

3. Press 7 then press 8 to go to second test.

4. Continue to press 8 until you see Ad in the credit display and 01 in the match/ball in play display.

5. Press and hold the 1 key to change the auto replay percentage (can be from 5 to 50 percent), or scroll through all the percentages until you see fixed replays in the first two player displays. (NOTE: The default auto replay percentage is either set to 10% or 15% depending upon the table. To set it to a lower percentage value, or to get to fixed replays faster, press and release the 7 key before pressing the 1 key. This will decrement the percentage value down to 5% with the next value being fixed replays. Before going to the next adjustment, if you had pressed the 7 key as explained here, press 7 again)

6. Press 8 to see 02 in the ball in play/match display.

7. Press and hold the 1 key to set the first replay level. Score will increment by 100,000 points while you are holding in the 1 key. When you reach the value you want to set it to, release the 1 key. (NOTE: If you want to lower the current value, or if you pass the value you want to set it to, release the 1 key, press and release the 7 key, then press and hold the 1 key. Score will then decrement by 100,000 while holding in the 1 key) The values that can be stored here will depend upon if you selected auto replay for fixed replay. If you selected auto replay, the values can range from 800,000 to 2,000,000. If you selected fixed replays the value can be zero or can range between 100,000 and 9,900,000.

8. Press 8 to see 03 in the ball in play/match display. (NOTE: If you had pressed 7 in the previous step, press 7 before you press 8 otherwise you will go back to the previous adjustment) The adjustment that appears here will depend upon if you had selected auto replay or fixed replay.

For Auto Replay:

9. Press 1 to select the number of replay levels. The default is 1, max replay levels is 4. If you select more than one replay level, the values for each successive replay level will be a multiple of the first replay level. For example, if four replay levels were selected in this option: if the first replay level is set at 1,000,000 points, the second replay level would be 2,000,000 points, the third replay level would be 3,000,000 points and the fourth replay level would be 4,000,000 points. When you have set this, skip down to the section regarding high games to date.

For fixed replay levels:

9. Repeat step 7 to set the second replay level

10. Press 8 to see 04 in the ball in play/match display

11.  Repeat step 7 to set the third replay level

12. Press 8 to see 05 in the ball in play/match display

13. Repeat step 7 to set the fourth replay level

(NOTE: To disable any of the replay levels for fixed replays, set the value to zero)

High Scores to Date Section:

14. Continue to press 8 until you see 14 in the ball in play/match display.

15. Repeat step 7 to change the first high game to date.

16. Press 8 to see 15 in the ball in play/match display.

17. Repeat step 7 to change the second high game to date.

18. Press 8 to see 16 in the ball in play/match display.

19. Repeat step 7 to change the third high game to date.

20. Press 8 to see 17 in the ball in play/match display.

21. Repeat step 7 to change the fourth high game to date.

(NOTE: To reset the high games to date to the values stored above, press the 6 key while in attract mode)

22. Press F3 to save your changes and reset the table.

This procedure should work for the following tables:

Williams System 11 tables:
High Speed, Grand Lizard, Road Kings

Williams System 11A tables:
Pin*Bot, Millionaire, F-14 Tomcat, Fire!, Fire! Champagne Edition, Big Guns (11A versions)

This procedure should also work on Geiger conversion kit La Retata.
