This is a complete rebuild of Attack from Mars, based on the table by Midway/Bally/Williams from 1995.

Version 5.0 is only for VPX8, as it includes many changes only available in VPX8.

What's New in Version 5.0.0 (See full changelog)

  • 5.0.0 Released 29.06.2023
  • - fixed wall visibility issue with VPX 10.8
  • - new flipper code thanks to JlouLouLou
  • - Updated for VPX8
  • 4.0.0 Updated 14.08.2022
  • - Updated to my VPX7 physics
  • - cleaned up graphics & reduced the size of the table
  • - Added my VPX7 LUT changer to darker the table (hold down LEFT CTRL while change with RIGHT CTRL). Including GI brightness adjustment. Use the LUT changer together with the day/night slider to give the table the level of darkness you prefer.
  • - Updated my mechanical set of sounds to a more "under the glass" sound, as people seem to like those kind of sounds better.
  • - a few changes here and there
  • 3.0.5 Updated 19.05.2022
  • - Added an increase in GI lights intensity when selecting a darker lever using the LEFT and RIGHT CTRL keys.
  • - Made the insert texts sharper and darker.
  • 3.0.4 Updated 28.01.2022
  • - fixed big ufo. Thanks kiwi for the fixed mesh.
  • 3.0.3 Updated 25.01.2022
  • - fixed the ball lost during multiball by adding a playfield mesh with holes and removing the old kicker ball animations.
  • - made a separate LE revision of the table with different graphics and color leds.
  • 3.02 Updated 10.05.2021
  • - re-enabled the saucers shake when nudging.
  • 3.01 Updated 09.05.2021 for VPX 10.7
  • - Reduced table's file size
  • - Tried to fix the table loosing count of balls (gone back using the cvpmBallStack instead of the newer cvpmTrough, this allows me to check for the number of balls in the stack and kick them all out, check lines 450++)
  • - Change the GI to what I'm using now
  • - Added the materials for VPX 10.7 for better physics on the walls, although there aren't many as the rubbers were already done with rubber objects)
  • 3.0 Updated 16.10.2020
  • Updated script, physics & graphics:
  • - added the arcade physics 3.0
  • - made optional modulated solenoids, default is off. The change must be done in the script, set the Const UseVPMModSol = True
  • - enhanced the images if they were not already 4k (or close enough :) ).
  • - removed workarounds for the vpinmame droptargets as they fully support SSF (hit sounds) with the latest vpinmame.
  • - new rolling routine that now includes the ball shadow, the ball drop sound from Rothbauer and my ball speed control.
  • - Easy change of the ambient lightning: Hold down LeftMagnaSave and with RightMagnaSave it will switch between LUT images, from light to dark, 9 levels, and the selection will be saved for the table.
  • - added sideblades
  • - some extra collision sounds.
  • 2.0.1 Updated 04.01.2020
  • - New FS POV for cabinets
  • - Update physics to my latest arcade physics.
  • 2.0.0 Updated 24.08.2019
  • - "DT" version, new physics, FS view, new UFO, some small graphic changes gere and there.
  • 1.3.0 Updated 02.02.2019
  • - added SSF sound scripts and changed some mechanical sounds.
  • - changed environment image to enhance chrome metals
  • - changed materials
  • - changed ufo textures
  • - changed flashers
  • - changed flipper physics and appearance
  • - removed old photoshop lights and make them only with VPX lights.
  • - changed ramps since they were very hard to make
  • - changed the lock ball gate to use a "flipper" for movement.
  • - changed fading script to my new one (or older actually :) ), with simpler flasher fading. Although this table uses the modulated flashers.
  • 1.2.0 updated 31.12.2016
  • - updated for VPX 10.2 and vpinmame 2.8 (added modulated flashers, and fixed some wrong values from vpx 10.0)
  • - changed the "strobe". Now using a flasher, mostly to test is the stutter is gone.
  • 1.1.1 Updated 18.02.2016
  • - Dof by arngrim
  • - adjusted flashers for FS view.

OMG, JP is Back!  This has turned out to be the best Christmas EVER!!!!

Finally got time to start downloading and trying these new tables.

This is incredible!!!!   So much detail it is amazing, Lighting, reflection, super sharp graphics and this is the first VP10 table I have to run perfectly smooth on every one of my machines including my way to old portable.

This goes to show that with the release version of VPX and a well put together table, VP can still be accessible to most everyone, even those that might not be able to afford a top of the line rig.

Bravo JP and Everyone involved with VP10!!!!

Perfection :) Have spent allot of time on the real pin this holidays, this is pretty much the next best thing. The graphics, physics and most definitely the sounds of the all the mechs are bang on. The attention to detail sets a new standard in VP10 recreations of the classics. Thank you JP for your work on this table.

Thank you for all the time u put into building these tables...

This table plays relaxed.

I LOVE this release.   Amazing play and I love the physics of the ball.   AFM was my fav before, but now this is my fav of favs!   Thanks JP!!

anyone else getting a trough error in the script? Line: 81 Variable is undefined: 'cvpmTrough"

Really appreciate your continued quality input!

anyone else getting a trough error in the script? Line: 81 Variable is undefined: 'cvpmTrough"

Im getting the same error

figured it out... place core.vbs in the tables folder

Can the nudge be altered on VP 10 tables so that when you do nudge, the ball is affected and it isn't just the table that moves?

That is currently what happens when I play any DT tables in VP 10 so it isn't just your wonderful creations.
